Oh, BTW I can't imagine how expensive that whiskey really is. Even the Macallan 1946 is only a few grand. And why would it be at a pub?

Unless Desmond only makes £30 a month.

Jeez. The season is only EIGHT episodes in and you're ready to write it off after watching for two seasons?
Yes.
Well I guess that's one less gripe to sort through in next week's thread.

I think there was something about ABC changing their programming from 8 to 9 pm to cheaper programming.

That was NBC.

He was an Admiral, right? I wonder if this is going to somehow tie in with The Black Rock. Perhaps he is a descendant of the Captain of that vessel?

Not to mention it being in a pub like The Bus mentioned.

I could imagine that someone might have packed it in their suitcase for a flight, but it's a bit more of a stretch that it's on the shelf at the local pub.

I wonder why they used a made-up brand? Maybe because they wanted to use the fake backstory of MacCutcheon? That's probably the important part.

Anyone else notice the airline stewardess in the preview for next weeks episode? WTF is going on?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=owmsL7F7vi0

I really, really hope the writers aren't just throwing every random thing they can in the show without explanation. It's getting kinda frustrating.

I remember the creators saying in a past interview that everything on the island has a real explanation and there is nothing magical or supernatural going on. It could be argued that science fiction isn't ruled out, but I doubt it. Then again, we have a "smoke monster" killing Eko, so who knows?
I remember an interview with David Fury in Dreamwatch after he left the show. He said some interesting stuff about the tone of the show and that there was no interference from the network until episode 9 or 10. Guess they were starting to make some decisions that terrified the network. They wanted to goose it up and take it a bit further. He said, it was a matter of degrees and calibration. They wanted stuff out that was harder to explain and wanted to be a bit more vauge.

So he goes on to say, from his point of view there is some frustration as a viewer, in that He'd like some clearer answers, answers that were resting in the area of sci fi and that's where they had to draw the line. They have answers and they tended to lead towards sci fi and apparently that scares their parent company. "While they are content with the questions, they are not content with the answers. " There is an interesting level to that, which I appreciate , but then there is the challenge of how long an audience will be invested i the show and in these character without getting enough concrete answers."

I loved last night's episode but then I am always a sucker for Time Travel type storylines.
So if this took place right after Ecko died I guess Kate and Sawyer are still prisoners?

I think Des is able to see and sense the future. The entire episode was focus on Desmond and his discovery of seeing his future. The jeweler just cemented his confusion.

Any one remember anything from the digital clock showing '1:08' to the microwave with that weird beeping sound? Does that have to do with anything?

Also, if the preview clip has anything, I assume they were brainwashed by the same fashion as Alex's boyfriend. They looked pretty creepy.

4+8+15+16+23+42 = 108.

The beeping was the same as the warning in the hatch when time was running out to push the button.

Are you talking about Cindy? She vainished into thin air in season 2, right before Shannon was shot. We have been wondering if the others had her or if she was a victim of Smokey.

I think it is pretty obvious that the show is reaching out now to keep viewers interested by advertising that "next week we will get three questions answered."

Maybe it was not on the plane but on the boat. Remember it was Libby's boat first and Desmond was shown drinking a bottle on it when he reappeared. Perhaps Sawyer grabbed some for himself before leaving to the Other's camp at the end of S2.

I am guessing they got the Scotch and other things we have not seen before in the same place with the Castaways on Gilligans Island got their additonal wardrobe, radios, exercise bikes etc.

I don't know, maybe they are indeed ready to start giving answers.

A ton of impatient people complained about the pacing and question-raising of the first season of Carnivale, and from the start of season 2 they came out of the gate ready to please.

Pretty disappointing after last week's ep, and this is coming from a Desmond fan. Glad to see that Charlie is most likely going to kick the bucket before the series is over.

Next week 3 Questions answered. I bet one of them is "What happened to Cindy?"

And the third might be what happened to the children, or what is going on with the fertility doctors.

Maybe it was owned by Gary Troup, the author on the plane who wrote Bad Twin. Listen to this:

Despite the bad acting, it's interesting.

Re: time-travel; Desmond was back on the island after getting hit on the head by the guy in the bar. When he wakes up, his head is injured. If it was a dream, there would be no injury.

Also, it certainly was not like the normal flashbacks the show does because there was no whoosh of sound before cutting to the past (and coming back).

He was in a building that exploded.
