Where's the 'Prince's Super Bowl Halftime Show WeeWee' Thread?

Didn't see a separate thread, but Prince's little prince deserves its own thread!

BIG controversy, huh? Let the comparisons to Justin/Janet indecent exposure halftime show commence. We all know prince snuck in the phallic guitar shadow....did that cross the line of being family freindly?

Everyone in my living room started laughing, including my 11 y.o. stepdaughter. I think it corossed the line if it WAS supposed to be family-friendly....or is it just pervs like me that saw Prince with a guitar penis?

Best halftime performance I can remember, other than maybe U2. Interesting that he played a Foo Fighters song.

I'm not a huge Prince fan, but I like his older stuff. I just thought it was meh. I think the halftime shows are too watered down anyway...I think this was his way of making it memorable. Guy on the radio here making a big stink about Prince's shadow weener...I just thought it was funny.

Whats worse is the only reason to RAISE that drop cloth is to project a shadow on so he could be nasty without being nasty.

So he'll project a guitar penis in concert but won't play "319" or "Billy Jack Bitch" anymore because he found religion. Jeeeez....

Isn't this it? Seems like you answered your own thread question just by posting it. Freaky.

Haha (considering how much rain was really falling from the sky). But with the rain, "Purple Rain" was a pretty cool performance. I thought the audio was pretty good, given whatever production problems the rain might have presented to Prince and company, especially using the wireless gear.

You see - that's the joke. I didn't see any couldn't believe there was one, so it's partly in amazement that there wasn't one, so I made one. Get it? Heh.

Much better than the Rolling Stoned last year.

As for the penis thing, I didn't notice. But I am sure many will read something into it.

In between Let's Go Crazy and Baby I'm A Star was the intro for 1999.

With that weird guitar of his, it looked like he was sporting one of those double-penetration dildos, where the bottom appendage hooks into the ass.

Anyways, I'm not a huge Prince fan, but being a guitar player myself, I really dig him as a guitar player, and since he's so good, and has such a great guitar sound, I wonder why so very few of his songs have so little heavy guitar in them.

I didn't notice it at all.

Don't care for Prince, but thought his performance wasn't too bad. Wouldn't mind seeing the actual Foo Fighters out there

How is Prince's guitar any more suggestive than a regular guitar?

I'm not a Prince fan, but his halftime show was better than either the game or the commercials, that's for sure.

Exactly. Any guitar worn at proper shredding level will be phallic.

As for the half time show, I thought it was great and I'm not a big Prince fan. I was surprised by the choice of Prince since he doesn't seem to appeal to the average football fan, or their wives. Hopefully most people enjoyed it and they put on more shows like this. I've known for years that he was a killer guitarist though so it was cool to see him shredding in a live setting. I was disappointed that he only did one verse of "All Along the Watchtower." What he played sounded killer.

I was miffed that it seems like the sound for his guitar licks at the end of Purple Rain seemed to have cut out. I thought it was a damn good performance seeing that he had to do it in the rain and looked like he was having fun. Liked that he covered FooFighters (only fitting I suppose since they did the same).

It was also fitting that he did Purple Rain in the rain - I also liked that he did All Along The Watchtower - A Dylan song made popular by Hendrix - he pretty much covered all his bases there.

Do you think it was originally in the set list or did the change it at the last minute for the rain? I noticed some "flying doves" on sticks during the song, makes me think they were supposed to do a different one.

I thought the show was GREAT, but everyone else at our party was complaining about how Prince sucks. Not as good as Beyonce, I guess.

At our house, we all though Prince's half-time show was the first in years that did not disappoint. Wish I had recorded it.
