Scrubs - 02/01/07 - "His Story IV"

Didn't care for this episode. Not because of the politics, I think they handled that fine, but it just didn't have a very good flow and lacked focus. The best parts for me was the Janitor's salt-n-pepper shaker and Elliot's old quote "My bajingo's on fire.", other than that, meh.

According to Wikipedia:
Season 7
Bill Lawrence told Mike Ausiello at TVGuide.com that Scrubs will return for a "seventh and final season, either on NBC or ABC." He also told Ausiello that if Zach Braff is not interested in doing a seventh and final season, there simply will not be a seventh season. He does however feel Braff will likely stay for a final season.
On January 17, 2007, Zach Braff posted on his blog that he would be willing to return to Scrubs for a seventh season if "all the right pieces fall into place" including "Bill Lawrence staying on as creator/head writer" and "some scheduling tweaks."

I don't really get how some people let politics invade their lives to the point where it will change their perspective of someone. Great episode! Loved the Todd's take on the war.

I wish they would have stayed with Kelso more. The show was hilarious when it was with him, and I think they missed a real chance to develop his character even more than they did due to the constant focus on the war.

Leaving the war aside for a minute....
I really hate these His Story episodes. At least part of the fun of Kelso, Cox and Janitor is that they don't need a reason to torment J.D. They make his life miserable and that's the fun of it. Every time they take up one of these narrative episodes it humanizes them and justifies their behavior at least to a degree. I don't want that. In the same way that I hated The first two Star Wars prequels and will almost certainly hate Hannibal Rising, I don't need exposition and explanation on my bad guys; the world is a rough place and sometimes there are bad people in it. That's enough for me. The His Story episodes rank down with My Life in Four Cameras as my least favorites. They've got a great formula, they should kinda stick to it.
And whoever posted that this was better than My Musical, get thee to a psychiatrist!

Liked the Officer and a Gentlemen jokes.

Wow, this was sure a terrible episode; it's probably the worst one I've seen. Although, since I hate everything involving politics, ESPECIALLY people forcing their political beliefs down viewers' throats, I suppose I was "destined" to hate the episode. I just hope it doesn't happen again.

I am the total opposite. Really didn't care for this episode, but the musical episode just grew and grew on me to the point that I must have watched it five times now.

I'm watching My Life in Four Cameras right now on Comedy Central, and it's such a wonderful, brutal reminder of just how cheesy this show could be. I never really realized that until several months ago when I saw ...Four Cameras for the first time in syndication.
I don't have a big problem with going inside Kelso's head, for as much insight as we got, it still doesn't truly explain why he's so mental.
Also, I was halfway expecting a somewhat bipartisan take on the issue, but coming out of Hollywood I guess that was impossible. I do think when JD was reading the book and pointed out how much he had left to go after the "Mission Accomplished" was fairly neutral in pointing out that little discrepancy in this whole issue, no matter what side you're on.

Saw a rerun of this the other day. Near the end Janitor and JD were talking about Bin Laden and Janitor said "I think we should be looking for him in Pakistan". I know it isnt that big a shock we found him there, but it brought a smile to my face.

Yep, there was a lot of chatter about this right after they found him. I don't remember being so concerned with Elliot's bajingo...

And what happened to Zach? I liked his wimpy, indie-rock, nice-guy style. I used to get my fill with Scrubs, and his few movies. But I haven't seen him lately.
And why does he avoid my phonecalls? I will not be ignored!
