Wow! As I was getting ready for work today Boyle was on my mind big time and I hadn't even turned the radio or TV on yet!! I was thinking about his various funny lines from ELR and in particular a line from the clip they used in the 40 year old virgin,

Boyle: Don't yell at your Mother!
Raymond: You yell at her!
Boyle: She's not my Mother!

I couldn't get the line out of my head. Then I got in my car and turned the radio on and news of his passing the was first report I heard. How weird....

RIP

The thing I could never get over was how calm and peaceful the guy was out of character. If you've ever watched the extras on any of the ELR seasons he's the quietest of the bunch off camera. Guess that shows how good of an actor he was.

too bad. Given his previous incidents and solid recoveries this came as a bit of surprise.

I need to play the contrarian here.

Good riddance to a lousy actor who brought me nothing but misery.

So you didn't like his acting, isn't "good riddance" a bit of a low blow?

I loved every role he played, no matter what genre. If Peter Boyle was in it you knew it was going to be entertaining. This is really sad, he left us far too early. RIP Mr. Boyle.
