Dec 13, 2006 8:52 am US/Pacific Actor Peter Boyle Dies (CBS) NEW YORK Veteran actor Peter Boyle, who played the crabby father of Ray Romano on the CBS comedy "Everbody Loves Raymond," died Tuesday night in New York, CBS News has learned. Boyle was born Oct. 18, 1935, in Philadelphia. He left a calling as a Christian monk in the 1950s to become an actor, and in 1970, he won acclaim playing an intolerant factory worker in the movie "Joe." In 1974, Boyle joined Mel Brooks to star as the famous monster in "Young Frankenstein." Boyle reportedly was in full monster make-up for the film when he met his future wife, Rolling Stone reporter Loraine Alterman Boyle. (© MMVI, CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.) Chris |
So very Sad

Holy crap!
RIP |
That's too bad. Funny guy, good actor. I'll have to watch Young Frankenstein in his honor.
|
I always thought he was Ed Anser.

Sad news. Most known these days as Frank Barone, but he'll always be Frankenstein's monster to me.

SCULLY: You prognosticated Buddy Holly's death?
CLYDE BRUCKMAN: Oh, God, no. Why would I want to do that? But I did have a ticket to see him perform the next night. Actually, I was a bigger fan of the Big Bopper than Buddy Holly. "Chantilly Lace," that was the song. MULDER: I'm not following. CLYDE BRUCKMAN: There's... the Big Bopper was not supposed to be on the plane with Buddy Holly. He won the seat from somebody else by flipping a coin for it. MULDER: I'm still not following. CLYDE BRUCKMAN: Imagine all the things that had to occur, not only in his life, but in everybody else's, to arrange it so on that particular night, the Big Bopper would be in a position to live or die depending on a flipping coin. I became so obsessed with that idea that I gradually became capable of seeing the specifics of everybody's death. :( so sad. He was great in Young Frankenstein (and many other things) but I'll alway remember him as Clyde Bruckman from the best episode of the X-files ever. |

I always thought he looked sickly on the last few seasons of ELR. Did he have a stroke or heart attack a few years back?

"Puttin' on the Ritz!"

The Dream Team for me. The scene where he goes to the church and starts stripping off his clothes had me laughing as hard as any movie I can recall.
RIP :( |
I had no idea John Lennon was the best man at his wedding.
|
Weird -- I watched Young Frankenstein again last night just before I went to bed.
|
Blind Monk: Now don't inhale until the tip glows!
Monster: Mwaaah! RIP Peter Boyle |
