I thought it was set up pretty well... if it gets bad ratings and/or it isn't possible to line up the talent to make it a weekly show, it at least has a satisfying "ending".

But, if you wanted to continue it (either with a series, a series of movies, or another miniseries), there's plenty of material left on the table to do so.


Hell, it's actually pretty easy to put together a weekly show without any of the stars of the miniseries. You could follow around another group of people and their objects (with occasional guest appearances by the cast we've seen so far).

Nothing (or not known). A bible was shown in Kreutzfeld's collection as one of the objects with no known powers.

I'm betting the writers took the idea from Stephen King's Dark Tower series. The whole series had the feel of early-80s King when he was at his height, along with a dash of Clive Barker.

I didn't watch this, but it sounds alot like "Friday the 13th: The Series" with all the talk of a room of cursed/magical objects.

IIRC, it was referred to as a "dormant" object. There were a couple of other items in the same case, though I don't remember what they were.

I missed the bible in the case. I just figured the room would have one.

I was really getting into this, but the final installment was very weak. It's like they ran out of ideas and just started cobbling things together, having characters make incredible leaps of logic at every turn in a race to the finish line. It all became too random and coincidental. And other than series potential, what was with the "prophet" stuff?

I agree with you about the random and coincidental part. When he that just threw the whole thing for me. I mean, c'mon! You have a clock that vaporizes brass! Couldn't they have an object just Other then that part, I really enjoyed this series! My wife was none the encourager, but I really dug it. And there are so many doors left open for a series. I agree the 3rd installment was the weakest though. They tried to balance wrapping up much of the story to make a satisfying conclusion, while leaving the door open for a series and it seemed a bit rushed and uneven.

The link to what all of the objects in the room were seems incomplete. I thought I saw a motel room phone in the Legion's case. Or was that one of the objects they didn't know if it was truly an object?

Got to agree with the people. The last 2 hours kind of fell apart. What the heck happen to lost item jesus guy. Is one eye guy dead know or somewhere with his dead son. Does the new prime object guy know everything now. He gets his kid back but at what price.

To bad it had to end so poorly.

I have read where they have compared this to the old Friday the 13th series where there were various cursed objects they had to find each week.

I finally got to watch the first of the three installments, and I like it. I keep expecting Kevin Pollack to break out in a Captain Kirk impression, though.

I really want to see this as a series. I loved this miniseries and i really want to see more of the storyline.

Just got through watching this on DVD and must say this was a fantastic mini-series. Some of the acting is spotty early on but the story is fascinating and some emotions did well up at the end... Shame this will probably not become a series or get a mini-series sequel.

Finally caught it on DVD. It's watchable, but not great. And Dakota Fanning's sister is quite possibly the worst kid actor I've ever seen.

I find most kid actors annoying/obnoxious but considering she's only in it maybe 15-minutes (out of 4.5 HOURS), she's tolerable.

I think I read SciFi wanted to make a series out of it but that's not happening. I guess it's possible there will be a sequel, but I don't know...
