Be sure to check out the extended directors cut of the episode on NBC.com . It is about 31 minutes long and has some great extra scenes including two great running gags with Meredith and Creed.

Kelly''s crying scene and dwigt's fax were the highlights for me.

The best comedy on TV

Yeah. The second she said that I felt sorry for her. She's gonna get her heart broke in the end.

Ryan grimaced when Kelly accosted him.

This episode is as good as anything they've done. It hit all the right notes and just resonated with me. I've been laid off twice in a short 3 years and know the vibe the office gets when big news comes down like that and they nailed it.

Another nice moment was Jim's interview where he said very earnestly, "Say what you will about Michael Scott, but he would never do that."

The smile started out looking enthused, but I can see where it lost a little steam through the "tackle".

There was more to it if you watch the extended episode at nbc.com. Angela and Roy have an entire scene together that got cut.

at least Karen is capable of acknowledging her feelings. Pam's still in denial.

Not only am I looking forward to the Jim>Pam+Kelly situation and the mix into the office of the other new characters but maybe most of all Jim being Dwigt's new boss.

Of course Jim would say that - he's one of Michael's best friends.

I say in the next year Roy and Angela get together as do Jim and Pam. I don't think Karen will react well. Maybe end up sleeping with Dawight.

I cast my vote that Pam's girl next door hottness has it all over Kelly.

I again submit exhibit A as evidence.

Does anyone here think Jim was wrong? Michael *would* never do what the other boss did.

I think it's interesting that they're giving Jim a promotion...hopefully a big part of that will be to complicate him getting together with either Pam or Karen, with very humorous results.

You know Kelly is the girl that Ryan is with, right?

I think you're searching for the name Karen.

So when's Oscar coming back? And boy, won't he be surprised!

Also, I think Bob Vance may have a breach of contract case against Dunder Mifflin.

Interesting point. That may have some plot implications as the story develops - ie, Jim having to make up his mind between the girl who can openly express her feelings (Karen) and the one who can't or just waffles (Pam). It bears watching...
