I think we need to know why that giant green parrot screeched "Huuuuurleeeey!" in the season 2 finale before we get to such minor trivialities as Alex's identity. :)

It's been an easy season so far fro Jin and Sun. Only one episode...

candyrocket786 11-09-06 01:19 PM

Spoiler:
Doesn't Sawyer have an STD? I could've sworn he revealed it during the episode where Jack said he needed glasses.

movieking 11-09-06 01:20 PM

I think that you are correct.

Tommy Ceez 11-09-06 02:30 PM

Why would it matter that thier on a different island?

If Jack can force the Others to let Kate/Sawyer go by holding Bens life hostage, he couldnt tell them to get him a fucking boat?

"Kate RUN, if they dont let you go Ben Dies!!!"

"jack, were on an island!"

"Oh.....ok....forget the whole thing"

Totally agree with Tommy, everyone on this show are retarded when it comes down to common sense. jack has the hand to play and if kate tells him they are on a mini island i'm sure jack can order a boat. what's so hard about that. this whole kate/sawyer/jack seperate island thing is tiresome. i'm still more interested in the main island with desmond, locke, and sayid than the "soap opera" which is the other three. I actually wanted sawyer to get shot to actually move the show along, and why is kate reduced to a whiny, weak character this season. this is the same girl that has alluded us marshals and proved that she isn't a damsel in distress.

chrisih8u 11-09-06 03:13 PM

I don't get why Kate, Sawyer, and Jack don't ask the others more questions about the island. Jack should have had a long sit-down with Ben before the surgery to find out everything he knows.

Jack flat out told Kate last night that you can't believe a thing the others tell you. So what purpose would be served by having a sit-down with Ben? It would be a waste of time from Jack's point of view.

kenage 11-09-06 03:31 PM

Also remember that when Sawyer asks Kate if she loves him she doesn't answer him with a yes she kisses him instead to shut him up. Sawyer then says he loves her which she again does not respond too.

cracksky 11-09-06 04:23 PM

Never trust an Other. Alex screamed that they lie. Walt told Michael that they pretend before Mrs. Klugh shut him up. Ben keeps saying they're the good guys while Juliet says the rest want to revolt. What's the truth? Trust no one.

What was Locke and Sayid's detour on the way back to the beach? No clues?

Why would they give us the huge revelation of Desmond being able to see future events then basically relegate his character to the background?

I think Kate saw a real possibility of getting away from the FBI by starting a family with the cop (even though she was using a fake name). When the pregnancy test came up negative, she freaked and bailed. I'm sure she would've tried to make it work if the test was positive. The real irony is that she actually might become pregnant now with James (whose real name she just learned btw) and as luck would have it, there's a fertility doctor on the island.

Does anyone NOT think that the woman who helped Jack get out of his room was Alex?

I got the impression it was to retrieve Eko's stick.

I agree.

Also, I don't think we know if Sawyer still has an STD. Jack only asked if he'd ever had one.

BTW, does anyone remember, on the plane, did Jack change seats when he talked to Rose? Just wondering if that has anything to do with Jacob's list.

ABC would never have that. That's why David Fury left. The network wanted them to slow the pace down.

davidh777 11-09-06 06:36 PM

So are they going to do a season 3.0 DVD set in Feb?

The "SV" TV rating in front of the Kate-Sawyer segment was a spoiler.

Actually, John outright said it.

No, I think Ben let Jack out to see Sawyer and Kate on the monitor cuddled up.

Seriously? Where was that reported? Of course, that kinda makes sense and the pace has been my biggest complaint this season, that it's moved too slow. There has been some amazing character development but minimal plot development.

maingon 11-09-06 09:56 PM

I liked the episode but they need to deal with the Island more, I loved the first season wihen they dealed with the island more and had for example the old slave ship that stuff was Fantastic, and the others were creepy, and monster was cool. Right now the others arent intresting and kind of boring

cdoug57 11-09-06 10:19 PM

Ben still creeps me out, especially when he was observing the monitors wearing his glasses and Juliet is beginning to get a litle scary, "You might not believe this but I can follow orders." Seems like she is trying to undermine Ben and will stop at nothing to accomplishe her goals.

Fok 11-09-06 11:00 PM

Is everything going to finish up in season 6? they'll probably have a movie after that

I read it in the magazine dreamwatch a couple of years ago. He said that they didn't receive any intrusions from ABC until about Episode 7 or 8 of the first season. Guess they wanted things to be more "Vague" and have less of the answers weighing in SCI FI territory so if it is slow it's all due to ABC or their Sister company wanting it to go slower. He said he didnt know how long he could string the audience along without them losing interest.

I also managed to find this online:

THEY'RE MAKING IT UP AS THEY GO

The Lost creators have often claimed they know where the show is going and that everything will ultimately add up. Well, the current creators, anyway. "There was absolutely no master plan on Lost," insists David Fury, a co-executive producer last season who wrote the series' two best episodes and is now a write-producer on 24. "Anybody who said that was lying."

"On a show like Lost, it becomes a great big shaggy-dog story," he continues cheerily. "They keep saying there's meaning in everything, and I'm here to tell you no - a lot of things are just arbitrary. What I always tried to do was connect there random elements, to create the illusion that it was all adding up to something."

Many plot elements were concocted on the fly, Fury says; for example, they didn't know Hurley won the lottery until it came time to write his episode. "I don't like to talk about when we come up with ideas," Lidelof demurs. "It's a magic trick. But we planned that plot: We seeded references to it in earlier episodes." Fury disagrees. He says scenes with those references were filmed much later and inserted into earlier yet-to-air episodes: "It's a brilliant trick to make us look smart. But doing that created a huge budget problem."

Jimmy James 11-09-06 11:47 PM

Man, if I have to pick one writer to side with, it would be Fury.

I just watched 3.1 again tonight as I'm trying to get my wife caught up (she has been busy). I'm starting to think that people are taking the "don't trust the Others" bit way too far. They planted seeds in that first episode that make it pretty clear that Ben and Juliet really are rivals and that the video wasn't just some sort of confidence game. That realization really depresses me and sends me back to a place where I see myself ditching the show in a couple of years after it is totally clear they're just making up everything as they go along.

GuessWho 11-10-06 12:05 AM

OF COURSE THEY'S MAKING IT UP AS THEY GO ALONG!!!!!

How is this a surprise or even a disappointment?!?

If the show didn't do well in the beginning, they would have to wrap up the story in 1 season or less.

The network & producers don't know how long the show will continue to be a success, so how the hell can they plan a story arc without making stuff up? It could be 1 year, it could be 5. Who knows yet?

Look what happened to 7th Heaven. They thought last year was the end so they kinda wrapped everything up. Then they learn they're coming back and the show is a mess as a result.

You can't lead up to the end yet if you don't know when the end will be.

Of fucking course they have to make stuff up! They have an unknown amount of time to fill. Don't be surprised or disappointed by it.

Jimmy James 11-10-06 12:14 AM

I think the distinction is between making up the little details and making up everything. I'd like to hope and expect that they have their main mysteries and their main character traits locked and that these things would serve as a road map. I'm not upset at all with the idea that they didn't know that episode 3.6 would be a Kate flashback featuring her marriage. It freaks me out a little bit to hear they didn't even know that Hurley was the lottery winner and had to go back an float clues in.
