Sorry for being an asshole. Been working too many long hours.

I actually thought the guy looked like Ron Perlman, but this screengrab shows that not to be true either. But this actor looks familiar though, but I can't place him.

I think the reveal might have been "Shepherd wasn't on Jacob's list", meaning that Jack was not supposed to be there (the island). If that's true, that certainly changes things.

Exactly. But they didn't have the balls to go through w/ it.

Eye-patch guy is David Boreanaz (sp?). FOX obviously has no bones about one of their stars moonlighting on another network's hit shows.

I thought that one of the spoiler places mentioned that Kate would make her choice in the first 6 episodes. On one of the podcasts, the showrunners were asked if Kate's decision was going to be influenced by the fan's choice for who they wanted. They said no, they picked who they thought that Kate would choose based on her character. She screwed Sawyer, but she seemed pretty torn up about having to leave Jack behind. I guess we still don't know her choice.

It's either Patch Adams or Patch from Days of our Lives ... I'm not sure yet ...

Back on topic, I've been watching WAY too much Battlestar Galactica lately (just started with Season One a few weeks ago). I was waiting for Jack to discover a pulsating red spine when he opened Ben up. Forgot there are no Cylons on Lost.

Saw this theory posted on another site. Interesting concept

Here it is, in all it's cut-and-paste glory:

Spoiler:
A theory:

Something happened on the beach with Ben and Kate. When Jack mentioned it, she looked away. And Kate's screaming "I can't" when Jack tells her to run, I believe that has less to do with the fact that they're on the wrong island than something else. I mean, they're about to kill Sawyer, got a gun to HER head too, and she doesn't want to run. Why?!

Cause I think Ben told her to pretend she loves Sawyer...even though she really loves Jack. Ben planned this to fuck with the guys. Ben played Jack. He played Sawyer. All part of trying to get Jack to do the surgery.

So Kate doesn't want to run because of Jack...cause when Alex said "don't believe them, they're going to kill your boyfriend"...what's not to believe? They were pretty obvious that Pickett wanted to kill Sawyer. So that's not what Alex was talking about. She was talking about Jack...who Alex knows is Kate's true love. And Alex knows they're lying and going to kill him...he wasn't on the list. And that's what Kate knows too, and that's why she doesn't want to run.

That theory is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.

I lol ed at Kate as a housewife. They tried to make her look like Mary Tyler Moore from the Dick Van Dyke Show. Maybe the big thing that was supposed to happen in Episode 6 was Kate and Sawyer finally having sex?

CPA-ESQ. 11-09-06 08:52 AM

I'm in the "this was weak" camp :(

Where is Kate going to "run" to?

And I don't see Jack putting someone in a position to die - The cancer surgery is complicated enough... the body will have to recover from that, and the poison from the cut kidney -screwy-

I don't think Jack knows about the "two island" situation.

He could very well be lying, much like Ben has done to him. No one aside from Juliet (and she's a fertility doctor, not a surgeon) would likely even know what to look for.

He could be, but I doubt it because he picked up the scalpel and made in incision right before Bens heart rate jumped.

cdollaz 11-09-06 09:11 AM

I could definitely see Jack letting him die or killing him.

In the real world, yes. But in the world of television we could be given some glossed over explanation (the heart monitor was gimmicked ahead of time by Juliet, for example).

I'm not necessarily buying into my whole theory myself. Just a possible "what if..."

ABC advertising might have promised that at the end of season 1, but the show didn't. And technically, they did reveal the Laura's killer at the end of the season 2 premiere. Very graphically.

That makes absolute sense to me...Kate approached Jack to do the surgery or Sawyer dies...Jack freaks out....next thing Kate is all over Sawyer knowing they are going to kill him, and Jack mysteriously is let out of his cage to be able to see it on TV...next thing you know, Jack is doing the surgery. Not sure who she really wants to be with, but that was set up for Jack.

Do we have to spoilerize theories or speculations? If so, sorry I didnt...

Yea, I can't decide if I liked last night's episode of not. I think I did, but I'm a little pissed, from the false advertising of something big happening.

penguin42 11-09-06 10:11 AM

Horrible episode. I hate Kate, I hate the way she cries and the way she has a constant constipated look on her face.

the jack/kate/sawyer storyline is stupid and unbelievable.

kates flashbacks suck, her story is getting more and more convoluted. Its ridiculous.

This show is slowly turning into a very bad soap opera.

'The Others' are a joke. Who are they and what are they doing?? who cares.

It's clear that with the ratings plummeting that I am not alone with that sentiment.

zuffy 11-09-06 10:22 AM
