I missed a part -- what was the comment Ben made about Juliet's similarities to Jack's ex-wife?

I do believe the x-rays were of Ben. The look on his face when Jack started talking about it was complete shock. Now, the question is if Juliet is playing Jack or Ben.

Also, why bring Jack out to the funeral? Is it to attempt to bring him into their group, or part of the plan to "break" him. Much like taking Sawyer to the top of the mountain to see the dual islands.

Oh, and correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Locke saw Jack on the monitors in the Pearl station last season.

I couldn't agree more with this. I too cringed EVERY SINGLE TIME one of those two talked or were scene in a seen, er, seen in a scene. It was just pathetic acting all around by those actors. Also, there is absolutely no reason for either one of them to be around. When they were following Sayid, Locke, Desmond, and Eco to the Pearl Station I was reminded of those video games where you had to escort certain irritating NPC's to certain levels in order to advance the game. That chick is hot and all, but I'd rather not see her in another episode again.

He most certainly did. He and Eko watched the Swan hatch as Jack was walking around in the kitchen area. complete continuity nonsense from the writers.

Back to the hatch, didn't Mr. Eyepatch look alot like Ron Perlman?

I do not. On LOST, when a character dies, they stay dead. I would even doubt we'd see him in a flashback.

Glad we found out tonight why Eko was building the church (he "owed" his brother a church). I'm not certain now he really ever found god, but just owed his brother a debt.

I also wonder why the smoke monster demanded that Eko repent. It does make you wonder if everyone was brought to the island to atone for some past grave wrong.

From my understanding, it's supposed to be one helluva finale.

My prediction, based on nothing but the theory I've carried that the LOSTIES are in fact clones with implanted memories is that in the finale,

Spoiler:
we see kate, sawyer or jack come face to face with their "clone".

It's like two J Crew models wandered onto the set.

Awaiting the explanation that explains why The Others didn't simply introduce themselves to the survivors and explain the situation on day one.

I don’t get all the anger about the new characters. It was obvious to me this was a response to people complaining the main characters never told the rest of the survivors about anything going on, which people said was stupid and unrealistic. They went out of their way to involve the non-main cast. I believe Hurley said something like, “you are including us?”

I am not saying it was done well, but I think they are just addressing a complaint of viewers since the first season. We may even see more minor characters without really getting to know them.

I know this is probably just my overactive imagination, but I thought Eyepatch Guy looked like
Spoiler:
Chris Mulkey, who played the commune leader in the recent Locke ep. Something about the mouth...

My biggest problem with these new survivors aside from how awkward their intros were and how poorly they're being written and acted so far is that they're taking away screentime from the rest of the established cast.

Seriously, we're 5 episodes in and quite a few of the main characters have had zilch to do on this show. What have Charlie, Hurley, Claire, or Rose and Bernard(who haven't even been seen this season) done so far? Jin and Sun have appeared in a single episode and only Sun did anything of note by killing an Other. Kate had breakfast with Ben and was coerced into confessing her love for Sawyer. And they just offed one of their best characters in Eko.

I've had numerous discussions about my frustrations with this show with friends. I'm always told when complaining about the lack of answers to the seemingly endless stream of questions the writers raise that it's all about the journey. Well you know what? The journey is boring the piss out of me.

F*CKIN ABC!!!!!

Did anyone catch the commercial for lost earlier in the eveining?

They said right in the commercial that someone dies!!!

Once I saw the flashbacks I knew ECKO was toast.

I never watch the previews for the next week and try to avoid the commercials but just wasn't able to hit the mute in time.

F*CKIN PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought the eyepatch dude was Andrew Divoff (Wishmaster). His name was in the opening credits and I didn't see him anywhere in the episode. Had to be him.

The red shirt girl brought up the point that they might be able to view other hatches. Sayid wiggled some wires around, which "switched the feed" to another hatch.

Back to the hatch, didn't Mr. Eyepatch look alot like Ron Perlman?
I thought the same thing.

That whole scene was a big 'huh?' to me. I was trying to read Locke's facial expression and tone when he said it, and trying to determine if he was being sarcastic. I'm just wondering if maybe Locke meant he didn't know that other stations besides the Swan were also being watched, and the writers made it very, very unclear.

And since when the frak can you rewind a film reel anyways? At least, I think the Pearl's orientation film was on a film reel, like all the other stations.

The film in the Pearl station was on videotape.

Actually, the two new Losties remind me of Dawn Summers.

Sudddenly appears from out of nowhere at the beginning of the season and everyone acts like she's always been there.

Can it be long before Glory shows up on the island?

It appears to me that the "smoke" is obviously some nano technology that can read your thoughts and take the shape of people from your past (then lead you on a goose chase and kick your ass) --- so that said, how in the F can the writers explain it scientifically?

Well, I thought this was the most interesting episode of the season (most Eko-centric episodes are interesting in my opinion.) This was the first time that Ben has appeared to be anything but in total control. Good to see Jack trying to use the x-ray as a leverage to get the upper hand on Ben. Whether or not Ben is still messing with him is still up in the air.

Truely hated to see Eko die in this episode. He was my favorite character by far. But it was interesting to see the monster attack. Gives us a clear picture of how the pilot died. To me the big question is why did the monster kill Eko now instead of earlier when they met? Did the monster want to give him a chance to repent his sins? Did refusing to repent lead to his death?

I don't mind the new characters at this point. But I think a back story would be helpful in accepting as part of the show. As it now, they are just random faces saying stupid lines and flushing toilets.

I think that is exactly what he meant.

I'm pretty sure that one was on tape.
