I also never miss a show of Bill Maur's.
And he is like hated by christian right wingers so Bill says so.
It's good to hear both sides, but David Letterman doesn't want to hear any facts. I mean Bill comes out on his show with a toy sword & sheild and Dave instead of saying something cute and nice says" That's nice you come out with toys". And says it with a disgusting tone of voice.

O'Reilly is the man, enough said. I find it very funny that Letterman consistently calls Bill O'Reilly a liar yet admits that he does not read his books or watch his show.

A hardcore O'Reilly fan...gullible enough to believe that Letterman has never seen The Factor or can't find Fox or his show on his tv and when he does he always finds the Simpsons.

It helps to know how your mind works.

Christians have been in it for decades, it's now it's suddenly "bad." Yet it's fine for multi-million dollar companies with no guidelines whatsoever other than making more money to be in the process as well. OR groups who are for illegal aliens who should have nothing to do with the process. I would be more than happy to get rid of EVERY group in Washington, religious or otherwise, and just let true reps from the states come there and be free to do what's correct for the country. But they make too much money off the groups and there's not been a real statesman anywhere near Washington in nearly 20+ years. We need someone who will kick EVERYONE'S ass, Dem or Rep.

Assuming you are referring to the Oprah episode, that was uncalled for by OReilly. I thought he hurt his own argument by calling the guy a "fox hater." But to be fair, it wasn't simply because the man disagreed with Bill. The man had just said something derogatory about Fox news. Something to the effect that FN has no credibility while defending the big networks.

I think a lot of people have a impression of O'Reilly based on his "big exposure" appearances such as the Late Show, GMA, etc. Like the lady in the Oprah show that said Bill is "never calm." The guy is a lightning rod (very opinionated, arrogant to a fault) but he also presents some very intelligent debate. Most people don't give him a fair shot because of preconceived opinions about him. I disagree with O'Reilly on several issues, but agree with him on others.

IMO O'Reilly is much more likeable than Hannity. Yes, he has a big ego, but he's also open to hear the other side of the story.

Can't stand Bill on TV, but am mildly amused by his radio show the few times I have heard it. I actually enjoyed watching the Letterman thing just because I think Letterman is a moran and tends to show it on these types of occasions.

Dave, can't you possibly, just once post something where you're actually right, so that I can agree with you?

That you kind of like the Dixie Chicks doesn't cut it!

O'Reilly is the biggest liar in news period. I've forgotten how many times Keith Olbermann has handed the idiot his arse with actual facts rather than rhetoric. Of course, he's an easy target because he continually makes a fool of himself. Just do a google search of his lies. The man lies to suit his agenda. I'd find it hard to believe he's told the truth more than 5 times in a week. I'm no liberal either, so that's not why I think O'Reilly's a boob. I hate O'Reilly because he continually talks out of his backside. I mean, the guy got his start in Inside Edition for Christ's sake.

It's spelled moron......and the difference between Letterman and O'Reilly is that Letterman is actually funny. O'Reilly is just a buffoon.

I don't think that you could have ever listend to O'Reilly's radio show and make those statements. He's certainly an arrogant, obnoxious windbag (which he freely admits), but a hardcore partisan? That's exactly what his whole show is against. Yes, he leans more conservative, but he's anti-death penalty, pro-environment, thinks states should decide on gay marriage, thinks big oil is colluding and gouging, thinks it would have been better not to invade Iraq, is against government subsidies to big oil and big tobacco, etc. His whole theme on his radio show, all the time, is how the far right and the far left are not at all interested in the truth, but in just making their partisan points.

I think people who don't watch O'Reilly much mistake the fact that he's loud, short-tempered, combative and very opinionated with the idea that he's a far-right partisan. It's just not so---he's not in the same category as Limbaugh or Coulter at all. And as far as all his "lies", pretty unfair criticism, IMO. And if you look him up on Wikipedia and see his "lies", it's a pretty insignificant list for somebody who argues issues off the cuff for 3 hours a day for years on end, IMO.

And as far as the whole Letterman thing, I think Dave's response was just like many O'Reilly haters---he's intimidated and put-off by Bill, so he came at him with emotional hostility and venom instead of logic. In truth, those two agreed on most of the issues---they both admitted they supported the war initially, they both admit that now they realize it was a mistake, they both would like to see US troops come home safely, and they both would like to see a stable Iraq.
