No way! I did that too. And then I proceeded to watch the preview three more times.

Awesome. I'd forgotten how much I love this show. And how disturbing it was when
Spoiler:
Shane murdered Lem

I was just asking my wife last night, "What happened to The Shield". We've been so busy lately, I figured we just missed seeing it. I hate to hear that it's being pushed back. With a baby due in January, it's probably a good thing for me that it won't start until March.

'Shield' Back on Duty in April

10 episodes for season six; final season due in '08

A long wait for fans of "The Shield" will come to an end this spring.

FX has set a premiere date for the show's sixth season: Tuesday, April 3, a week after new drama "Dirt" ends its season. The premiere will come just over a year after "The Shield's" fifth-season finale; that's the longest gap between seasons the show has had.

The long dry spell comes after a season five finale that saw Lem (Kenneth Johnson) murdered at the hands of one of his strike team partners, Shane (Walton Goggins), who mistakenly believed Lem had given up his crew to Internal Affairs. "Shield" creator Shawn Ryan says the bulk of season six, which will run for 10 weeks, will focus on Vic's (Michael Chiklis) search for Lem's killer, unaware that he's standing right beside him.

Recent Golden Globe winner Forest Whitaker will reprise his role as Internal Affairs investigator John Kavanaugh in season six, though Ryan declined to reveal how many episodes he'll be around.

The show is also gearing up for production on its seventh and final season. Those 13 episodes are scheduled to begin shooting in late spring, with a projected airdate of early 2008.

I heard Forrest Whitaker is only in 2 episodes for season 6. With his Oscar win, he's going to be in high demand now. Doubtful we will see anymore of him in The Shield.

I have a hard time believing that Shane won't cop what he did to Vic at some point. I don't see how he can't. And
Spoiler:
the webisode shows how it's killing him inside to see them punishing others for what he did

Which is nice symmetry, because Lem went through that exact thing during the money train aftermath.

Warning will contain spoilers.

By the way, the song over the FX Promo is from one of my favorite bands, Black Lab, called "This Night". The new CD is great. Check these guys out.

Wow. Too bad the audio got messed up, though.

It really does look like The Shield is set to go down as a show that really never had a slump. As far as I'm concerned, every season so far has been better than the one before it.

One thing that struck me as odd from that clip...
Spoiler:
I get the idea of Vic, Ronnie, and Shane giving Lem the proper 21 gun salute, but it seemed strange for them to be shooting at his grave...

Ha yea, it seems a little cheesy. IF I had to pick a season I didn't like the best I would have to say Season 4. Glenn Close put on a great performance but the season just didnt feel like the rest. But season 5 made up for it. Season 2 is my favorite though.

Pretty sweet for me to have the season premiere the day after the NCAA tournament ends.

I posted this in the season 5 finale thread last week and decided to repost it here for those that missed it.

Register at budtv.com and watch a 15 minute net episode of The Shield which was made to bridge the gap between S5-S6.

Spoiler:
The short episode shows Lem's funeral

I can't wait to see this season!!

I agree, its one of the few shows that gets better as each season goes on. (Except maybe 4)

Yea, I believe it was originally supposed to be one last season (season 5) but they ended up splitting it into two..

Season 5 was suppose to be 21 episodes split into 2 parts and originally I believe it was going to be the final season. However, Shawn Ryan talked FX into giving him another season (season 7) which will be the final season. Thus, FX turned the back 10 episodes into Season 6.

Wait hold up... You mean there is going to be ANOTHER season after these ten eps (Season 6)?

I thought the entire time that this was going to be the last season..

If you are right..

I can confirm that. There are 10 this year, then the last 10 of the series in 2008. Should be good.

Correction, FX ordered 13 more episodes for Season 7, which will air probably in January 2008. So we can expect 23 more episodes (2 seasons) of the Shield before the show is done for good.

That's way to long a wait. I'm rapidly losing interest.

Too long to wait, next season starts in a month. Watch BudTv.com promo and your interest will soon come back.
