Was this really Hannah's senior year? I thought she was just a sophomore last year?

I thought I heard her say that she graduated early.

... on a side note. My family and are on vacation and EW is TiVoing at home right now. I'm sad that I can't watch it tonight, but for the rest of you, this is end of EW... I still have 5 more days until it's the end ofr me.

And so it ends...so open ended - the perfect season finale...

Only it's not.

Thanks WB, thanks for nothing.

May the cast of 7th Heaven and the WB execs rot in that same special hell reserved for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.

Well, they pretty much gave us fans the ending we have waited to see for these 4 seasons, and it was rather satisfying, enough to bring out some tears for the hint of a prosperous future for these characters. Especially touching was Bright finally gaining enough maturity to understand that true love for another is putting their happiness in front of your own happiness. It was nice to see the relationship's foundation (Andy/Nina, Bright/Hannah, Ephram/Amy) rooted in love and understanding for one another, and becoming a long-lasting support system for one another.

Yeah, this was a rough 2 hours. I felt like I was the neighbor moving away from Everwood.

I feel lucky I got to experience a wonderful show like Everwood. I hope another show will come along soon that can bring us all back together once a week to talk about it, like Everwood did.

One of the best finales I've seen. They really tied up most of the loose ends and I loved the way lots of stuff tied into the first episode. This show had a way to have you laughing one minute and crying the next, and this episode was no exception. A great sendoff for an excellent series that is definitely over before its time.

Everwood was special indeed. I was completely satisfied with the way it ended, but those few seconds after it was over was when it hit me - It was over.

It didn't even have one of those WB 'thank you for 4 seasons' things.

Seemed disrespectful in a way - like proving once and for all that they don't care.

I can't believe it's gone. The ONLY good drama on TV and the bastards at CW didn't renew it. Still, had to admit, it was a good ending.

That was a really satisfying ending. There are so many good actors on this show. It was nice seeing all of the relationships come full circle. Bright/Hannah, Amy/Ephram, Andy/Nina, Andy/Harold, Harold/Edna, Andy/Delia all had some nice bookends.

The only problem I had was Nina not leaving Jake on her own. Her character is so wishy-washy that it would have been nice to see her say she couldn't go because she was in love with Andy, but instead it took Jake breaking it off and Andy asking her to make things happen. That just felt flat to me.

And yeah, it would have been cool to have Irv do a voice over at the end.

Yah, me too. Did I blink and miss Madison? The promos for the series finale included a shot of Sarah Lancaster, which led me to believe Madison was going to make an appearance, but I didn't see her in the 2 hours (but I confess to cooking during some of the first hour).

No, I saw that as well and was expecting it the entire time. I thought that would be the reason Amy had a sudden enlightenment on her feelings - not the Stephanie bit. But alas, she did not show up. Curious to see how that plays into the "changes" they made between the season finale and series finale.

Also, I kept expecting her to pop up at the end and give cause for Ephram to tell Amy sorry, I have to go be with Madison. I've been burned by shows on the WB through it's entire run, so I suppose it was fitting (for me) that they finally dilivered on a happy the last hour of me viewing their channel. Anybody who was a couple shipper (originals) on Dawson's, Buffy and Felicity will know what I'm talking about.

"Also, I kept expecting her to pop up at the end and give cause for Ephram to tell Amy sorry, I have to go be with Madison."

That was my expectation as well. I would have preferred it over the "... and everyone lived happily forever".

Although the ending was cozy and complete, I couldn't help but feel that all the turmoil of the last 4 years was thrown out the window for a fairy tale ending.

I did enjoy it a lot, but I guess I expected it to be as intelligent as the series itself was and unfortunately it wasn't.

I'm really curious how differently things played out in the "season finale" version they shot versus the "series finale" version we saw last night. I'm assuming the Jake exit was going to happen either way (seeing that Scott Wolf is going to be on soem new show next fall). I'm guessing the Ephram/Amy situation might have played out a bit differently, though. I also think maybe Hannah would have actually went away to Notre Dame (the mailbox scene seemed like it was added after the fact).

I thought the finale was great, though. I, too, was hoping for an Irv voiceover at the end. And I thought there was too much focus on the Stephanie storyline. But everything else worked for me. Sure, it was convenient that all the barriers to each character's happiness were resolved at the same time, but the producers didn't really have much of a choice thanks to the wishy washy way WB handled the show.

And frankly, a lot of it was simply *hinting* at their dreams coming true. Other than the certain (at least for now) Andy/Nina and Ephram/Amy wrapups, we were given hopeful but not decisive futures for the other stories. Bright/Hannah could get back together, or perhaps they will just stay friends. Harold/Rose may get to have their baby after all, or perhaps the mother will return for it. I thought it let the hopeless romantics have their way without being too perfect.

Good ending to the show. much better than endings to Dawson's, Buffy and Felicity. with the wb and their couple shifting i was half expecting ephram to end up with Hannah. Nina's story was weak, but she has always been a wishy washy character. I thought Andy was under used this year. Much better than the ending to most tv shows. what's wrong with giving the fans what they want who have supported the show. Nothing. more shows should end like this. bye everwood.

I thought it was a fitting end and brought everything to a satisfying end. After four years of turmoil, its nice to think that things could go right for them all.

I'm really sad that it ended because it was one of the few shows that was consistently good week to week, but ABC Family has picked it up in syndincation so I'll be able to see the few episodes I missed.

I feel so robbed that this exact line was not used to end this series. I don't think there could have been a better ending to Everwood than that finale with Superman07 lines. Beautiful.

I am glad Everwood did not stay around too long and go off on a sour note with bad writing, but I really wish people would recognize exactly what televisions viewers lost thanks to the bonehead execs at the CW.

Everwood is just one of those rare and special shows that doesn't come around very often. The superb writing and the ability to tear your heart out of your chest and then next second make you laugh. That scene with Ephram and Andy right before he proposed is a good example. In one second you have a father and son who have evolved so much over these four seasons in a touching moment followed up by Andy trying to leave through the closet.

Yeah, the ending was a little too perfect, but this show deserved that ending. I really wish Nina had been the one to walk away from Jake because it did take away from Andy's moment a bit because let's face it she had nothing left. The ferris wheel was a bit chessy, but the look on Ephram's face made up for it.

Wasn't Notre Dame Bright's dream school?

We better get the other seasons on DVD. I don't think I will find myself missing a show more then Everwood for a long time.

Unfortunately, according to tvshowsondvd.com, there are no plans to release the remaining seasons on dvd due to poor sales for season one. I would have to say there are many Everwood fans who failed to cough up some change for season one. Here is the link.....

It's so sad that this show is not coming back. It's one of the best shows on TV. FYI, Amazon has a great price on the Season 1 set - $16.99.

I will not watch anything on the CW at this point due to the loss of Everwood.
