I too am sorry to see Everwood go, but I don't understand those that can't believe the CW picked up 7th Heaven and not Everwood. 7th Heaven was the highest rated program on the WB for the last 10 years and (I believe) on either network (WB or UPN). It doesn't take a business genius to know which one you want to help launch the network. Yes, they'll probably lose money on 7th Heaven, but the ability to promo the rest of the programs on the network for 13 weeks will well off-set the loss.

I guess I'll have to TiVo the repeats and store them myself.
Maybe in 10 years they'll release the DVDs.

Sigh. Only one episode left. At least it's two hours. I really think this was one of the best episodes of the series. I'll get to that in a minute; in the meantime dvds...
I really think the holdup in the dvds is twofolds. 1) I read there were issues with the music lisencing (I'd say they want to do us right), 2) If they just made a deal for syndication rights it makes sense that part of that deal will include not releasing the dvds for x amount of time so that abc family can actually get viewers (us) before the dvds are released. Similar thing (I assume) happened with the newest series of Dr. Who. It was slated for realease on dvd and then got pushed. Oh look, it's being released a few weeks after the season finishes up on Sci-Fi.
Onto the episode:
I agree with whoever said they would have expected more of a reaction from Delia. She's not my favorite, but she hasn't been as annoying this year as last. Did they drop that whole "mean girls" story-line? I know Andy referenced it again, but I think that was about it.
Really liked the flashbacks. Amazing what they did there. Really the epitome of a reagular show's "walk down memory" lane. Only other show I have ever seen with such an original take on flashbacks was a SG-1 episode (believe it was season 8, maybe 7).
Patch - Just give the man an emmy already. I really don't think I've ever seen such fine acting on tv. Seriously. Was great to see him go back and play "old" Harold. Heck, back then it was easy to not like him, but now - hah!
Bright - It was really funny to see more of the dumb Bright. Really don't think there has been any other character who has visibly changed as much than Bright. It's as if they took his character the exact oposite patch that Ross took in Friends. I was never a huge fan, so to me it was really apparent that they had made him a fool as the years went on. Meh.
Andy - I liked the flashback, but it was more of a vehicle than an Irv moment. Good starting place. Only appears to serve a purpose for Ephram to tell Nina and to lead into next week.
Ephram/Amy - They may actually be the couple with the best on-screen chemistry I have seen. It's amazing how you can hate these two characters at different points in their story arcs, and yet whenver they are on screen together it is just amazing to see what they do with the parts. Really looking forward to see how they handle next week!
Lastly, I'd also like to second the point about not watching the preview for next week. I saw it after this weeks ep and apparently missed something HUGE, because I went back today and looked at it on the WB's site and was like, "Wahh?! How'd I miss that?" Wish I hadn't of seen it. =(
As long as I can get the dvds then I'll be happy we are ending on such a high note even though it is bitter sweet.

Pretty good episode considering how much they crammed in w/ the back-stories surrounding Irv. Particularly liked the one involving Bright and the Army.
Touching ending w/ Andy and his dad.
I really hope that they bring Madison back next week.

Ok, I just watched this episode while I was working out on the elliptical trainer, and I busted out crying during that last scene with Edna talking to Irv.
Man, am I going to miss this show.

Madison is working for Touchstone (What About Brian?), which Berlanti is now under contract with.
Madison coming back just might not be that far out. As much as I disliked her on the show, she would be a welcome sight for closure.
I just hope they do not bring Anne Heche back.

I'm not hip on any of their other programming, so I guess I'll be watching 1/2 of CW everyweek, once Reba finds a place on the schedule.

Well, it's almost time...
Things I hope to see:
Amy & Ephram get together
Irv voice over (gotta have the bookend!) - would especially love it to close with, "I wasn't there the day Andy Brown's life changed forever..."
