So Sylar is behind those killings? Did I miss something?

I felt much better about this ep, I think its moving in the right direction. Although I don't get the powers of the single mom, whats up with that?

I think the addition of the cop hearing voices was a good one.

Not crazy about the Chearleader Dad being so heavily in the mix, but we'll see how it plays out.

Gonna stick with it as it looks like the ratings are good enough that it should last for the season, which is always a concern early in the season....

I believe one of the detectives (the one from Carnivale) said that it fits Sylar's M.O.

So far this is the only one I like a lot. Any of the other characters could die on the next episode and I wouldn't care. Clea Duvall as the cop that busts him is always brilliant. During the entire scene, I felt like I was watching a different errrr better show.

The Flying Brothers are confusing and not engaging at all. The fragments of backstory are all over the place.

Split Personality Disorder Girl, was a lot more interesting this week. Especially , considering that both her and her alter ego operate independently and at the same time.

I still don't like Teleportation Boy. If he can move throught time, the show will have a bigger reset button than Smallville.

The Indestructable Chearleader is Indescribably boring.

This show has great visuals and strong characters, but the dialogue (performance & writing) is horrible. Reading everyons responses, it appears that I am the only one who feels the dialog is cringe worthy. Everything but the dialog is good to great.

Is Stacy Haiduk's eye color too light? They spook the hell out of me in the daylight scenes. She might look less spooky if she wore blue-colored contacts that dialed up the color for her eyes.

Spoiler:
I assumed the cheerleaders dad is the main evil character. He's either the head of hte organization that is "collecting the brains" or he's sylar. I thought this was pretty obvious from the previews of the season (after the pilot)

Something just occurred to me: The comic was called 9th Wonders right? So I wonder if that means there will be 9 heroes in total?

Hmmm...

InvinciCheer
Split Person-Ali-T (heh heh)
The Soaring Siblings
Leonardo Tomorrow (or The Artist)
The Otaku
Mind Cop

Unless you count Ali as two characters, I count seven so far. I wonder if we've already met the other two. Mohinder, perhaps? Or the The Artist's girlfriend? Or, stay with me here, maybe the little girl Mind Cop found (dum dum duuuuuuum!)...

Or Sylar can pull a Magneto and become good for a while.

So.

Out of all the 'powers' Who has the 'best' power? Who has the power that could easily live without?

I honestly think that the asian guy that can bend space/time has the most important power.

Which kid? Ali's? I guess that's possible, too. He can be Kid IQ.

I think he can actually be *too* powerful. The need to give his abilities a twist. Maybe like with this episode, he can travel wherever he wants, be he can't necessarily control the time he travels to.

This is probably obvious, but just in case, the term "9th Wonder" is just a reference to the numerous "7 Wonders of the World" lists. Since there are about 50 "8th Wonder of the World"s now (Kong, Andre, Chyna, Empire State Building, etc), "9th Wonder" sounds more impressive. It's like how giving 110% isn't special anymore. You have to give 120%.

I seriously doubt it means there are 9 of them. Calling someone an 8th or 9th wonder just means he is larger than life.

I agree that there don't have to be 9 of them, but I could see there being 9 to tie that in with the title. I think that's the sort of show we're dealing with here, and understand that I say that as a fan of the show.

No, I'm totally in that same camp. I'm annoyed because the writers are taking a great concept and ruining it with Creative Writing 101 level lines and poorly conceived stories. It's very amateurish and they seem to think that slick visuals and somber voiceovers will fool people into thinking that it's not.

After last night, I think the writing is a stylistic choice. It's like a live action comic book, and that means we're going to get scenes like the video review.

Isn't there another show called "The 9" anyway?

She still reminds me of Aurora from Alpha Flight. Except instead of the ability to flight and emit light, she has the power of she-hulk in her other persona?

as others have mentioned the cheerleader is pretty good looking for a younger girl. don't know her age in real life.

that scene where she gets tackled and her head was on backwards was wild.

It was almost watchable on NBC4 in DC. They had audio/video synch issues (and no HD) for all but the last few minutes of the episode.

The Asian Guy is indestructible. He can mess up 20 times and go back in time 20 times. He could be the most powerful villain. Syler doesn't have sh** on this guy.
