Subtitles don't bother me unless they spell words wrong. For instance, tonight they spelled "everything" as everthing.

It's not fair you east coast people have already seen it. I've still got ~6 minutes for it to start.

I knew I recognized that girl from somewhere ("Everwood") - liked her w/ the short hair.

I'm digging this show quite a bit. I had goose-bumps towards the end.

Was that the symbol from "Threshold"?

Season Pass for me after tonight. They do need to dump the Ali Carter storyline or perhaps explain how the heck a murdering alter ego is going to help this group of heroes.

Did they change the actor for the cheerleader Dad? I could have swore a different guy was in the pilot.

I also enjoyed it, and, now that we see the date that the bang happens, 5 weeks away, I wonder HOW MUCH show they are going to make before that is wrapped up?

Is the bang the focus of THIS season? If "Heroes" on next year will the focus be the guy the black family is keeping in the basement next door?

I thought it was better than the pilot, but that's not saying much. Other than looking hot I don't know what Ali Larter or her character bring to the show.

Right now all these big twists are more "WTF" than "Holy Shit!"

I like the show but I think they have too many characters. 3 or 4 would be enough.

Thinking about it, I think you're correct.

Hiro being a member of the Merry Marvel Marching Society had me busting up! (how many people here know of/remember that?)

Love the show so far, but the cast is becoming a bit huge. The first ep. already was character heavy, but now we get Greg Grunberg, the two CIA/FBI-types AND the Indian guy's neighbor? Not complaining as I enjoyed them all, but hard to see how the stories will develop when there are going to be so many to be told (see: Lost).

Anyone else notice how much older everyone was than last week? It was especially noticeable with the cheerleader, who got even hotter. It seems that the time between shooting the pilot and the second episode was pretty significant, maybe 9 months to a year.

Love the show. It was better this week than last and I think that they have things well planned out. A "don't miss" show for me.

Mmm...I guess I'm in the minority, but I feel mildly disappointed with this show so far. The major problem for me was that I had once wished someone would create a show like this. Right after I saw "Unbreakable". The concept is a great one and it has so much potential. But I feel like the writers for this show are mediocre at best. There definitely are some good parts, but the show lacks coherence. Plus, there are just some parts that seem gratuitous and really strain believability. (Yes, I realize this is a show about special abilities).

I'll spoil my criticisms for those of you who enjoy the show and would feel like this is raining on your parade:
Spoiler:
Like when the cheerleader gets sacked by a football player. First of all, why the hell would a football player just sack her? And even running full steam right AT her, I have a hard time believing that her neck would have been twisted around 180 degrees. It just felt like it was stuck in there to remind us of her ability as if the writers were afraid we didn't understand the first time around.

And why would daddy dearest steal a video tape from her geek friend without some reason there was something on there of interest to him? They didn't even hang out together.

The flying kid storyline also just annoys me. It's not like something happened where he started to get suspicious that he could fly. He just had dreams and suddenly he just believes that he can. So strongly that he's willing to jump off a 50 foot building to test out his ability.

The Ali Larter storyline feels less like a special ability and more like some plot out of some Wes Craven horror flick. And in those 4 hours that she was gone, her alter ego somehow managed to not only clean up the garage, but buy a new car, get a new registration, and stuff the bodies in a trunk. Oh, and she also went out into the desert and stuck a shovel in the ground by the road and THEN go back so that Ali could go do the digging and bury the bodies. Why not just do it all for her since the alter ego apparently has superhuman strength?

So far, I only like the Mohinder and Hiro storylines.

Ugh. I'll keep watching for a little while, but it's more out of hope that the writer will pull it together. Joss Whedon and JJ Abrams, he is not.

I'm not sure about the time difference. If I remember right, this was shot as a 2 hour premiere and NBC decided to split it, so it should have all been filmed at the same time.

Being the gun found on the ground is the same sort of gun as the "bug spray" guy had. It's also not just a normal handgun, they look like they were mod'ed out a bunch, so I'm guessing who ever killed the telpath is part of whatever -the bad guys- are doing. As in they all carry the same gear as groups tend to do in movies/tv shows. It could also just be that the show is cheap and it saved money to use the same prop twice..

as you can see in the pics.. Well, ok the girl has the gun but it's the -bug spray guys- gun after he dropped it, that's just a better screen shot of it... blah you know what I mean, being I think most of you saw the show..

gun on the floor near the telpath.. same sort of mod'ed wep..

over all I really liked this ep and show being everything about it seems new. Nice to have something different and not just another legal/CSI/doctor show.

even if I have no clue how a DNA switch of any sort of makes a mirror person or whatever it is she has. Heck for all we know she IS a "one of the bad guys" or at least the mirror version could be.

Good point, which is why I'm still watching this and Jericho. I thought this episode was ok, but I really liked the ending once Hiro found out he jumped ahead 5 weeks. Even better that he's back in Tokyo because I was afraid we'd never see his smartass friend again. They were my favorite part of the pilot.

Have your party one day early just in case!

I'm digging this show as well. The hour has been flying by for the 2 eps I've seen, and a reality-grounded superhero story (ala Unbreakable) is something different with lots of potential for good stories. I just hope they don't get too caught up with Lostitis and make storylines stretch on forever. The producers seem to be keen to comic book stories so maybe they can adapt that kind of pacing -- somewhat self-contained "arcs" of 4-8 episodes (with occasional standalones) but with overarching continuity from one arc to another. Carnivale, Surface, Invasion, and Threshold have made me rather wary of these new shows with gigantic stories -- it's really frustrating when they get cancelled leaving you hanging. Makes me hesistant to get started until I know they lasted long enough (and DVDs make it easy to catch up).

It looks like an SV Infinity with customized grip, competition magazine well, and a John Yanek style compensator.

I saw the same thing. I can't believe a big network show can get away with a goof like that. Unbelievable really.

Otherwise, Heroes has promise to become an excellent show. I'll be sure to tune in for the rest of the season to see what happens.
