She got back down to her fighting weight pretty fast after the pregnancy. She looks good again. For that matter, Kevin James' weight loss was fairly short-lived, as well.
I assumed the hold-up on renewal was something about Leah Remini refusing to sign on for another season on CBS if Comedy Central played the "Trapped in the Closet" episode of South Park again.

I think Leah looked cute regardless of her weight, her ass always looked good.
This show is so hit or miss now, I have no idea what they'll even do if they come back for another season.

At this point, I'm not sure if it should be renewed. It's like they're recycling plots and botching history. This season has been very hit or miss, it's probably best to get out now instead of having a "Deacon's Gone" episode.

it is the final season, confirmed by cast members if that means anything. I think CBS was having difficulty reaching a deal with Kevin James. Maybe 13 episodes is all he's sign on for. Not sure.

I think that it was actually Leah Remini who was the hold out, from various sources that I have read.
I still love the show, and wish that it was still a weekly series. People always write off shows that are on the air for a number of seasons without watching them, deeming them to have outlived their welcome. Some are just as good (if not better) in the latter seasons than earlier ones. Malcolm in the Middle is a good example. The last two seasons had more consistently funny episodes than their early seasons.
Here's hoping it'll be the same for KOQ. I'll be picking up all seasons on DVD eventually.

This show just went off the boards the last two years, after they decided to skip the baby stuff, they did not know where to go with these characters, and the storylines got off the charts absurd.
Not that this was ever a reality sitcom, but they at least were grained in some level of reality, but it quickly detiriorated the past year.
That being said, I am glad its coming back to put a tidy bow on a solid, if unspectacular sitcom.

KOQ and The New Adventures of Old Christine are the only two sitcoms on CBS I looked forward to watching. Two and a Half Men petered out after the first 1 1/2 seasons, and How I Met Your Mother is HORRIBLE!
Decent pilot episode for The Class, though, like many of the new shows that have premiered, not spectacular.

I adored the show when I first discovered it in 2002, even though I was three seasons late to the party. Thanks to DVD, it became one of my favorite shows. Kevin James really made the show as great as it was, although the bulk of the cast pulled it all together.
It was hard to keep up on recent seasons, especially when there was a noticeable dip in quality. James could still make it happen, but they clearly ran out of ideas long ago. Even though the series was essentially based on Doug doing something selfish/stupid, it got real stale the last couple seasons, when you almost questioned why they were even together.
I'm not a fan of kids in sitcoms, but it always seemed weird they never had them wind up with a kid. You'd figure that it was only a matter of time after they teased it earlier in the series.
Glad to see they're hanging it up before it gets awful; hopefully they get a good send off.

Some here on DVDtalk would say the show jumped the shark when the wife got fat.

This would not be one of them. At all. Not even close.

I only started watching the show about two years ago, but I did notice the difference between the earlier syndicated episodes and the last season on CBS. Still, as the old chestnut says, it's one of the better sitcoms on television. And Leah Remini never stopped being hot, even with the extra baby weight which she has since lost.
