I thought Howard told Artie not to do the roast, since he would miss the first two hours of the Monday show.

Odd that they don't include Betty White with his "Boston Legal" crew. Jeffrey Ross is always there.

Sharon Stone?

Unfortunately, it belongs to Jeff Ross

Yay to Patton Oswalt and Kevin Pollak. Boo to Lisa Lampanelli. Can't stand the woman.

Why would Artie Lange be at a Shatner roast?

Nice list of attendees.

Maybe it will be a surprise appearance?

Regarding Artie, Howard said it'd be worth missing part of the radio show if he talked about William Shatner's wife's drowning... there was some debate as to whether he should take it to that level.

They have to get Kevin Pollack for the roast.
He must have done a lot of them, he did one of those for a lawyer in Buffalo too...where he mentions the lawyer by name, it was a terrible commercial, he could have at least been Denny Crane!

Shatner has a good history with the Stern show...so I imagine the crew asked him since there was some relationship.

Nice list of attendees.
Why would any of those roastees be there? Other than Pollack who does a great Shatner, most of them are just good roasters. My guess is the company that produces it has heard Artie on the Stern roasts, and how he's killed. Plus, it's a avenue for free promotion, as he'll likely talk about it on the air.

True. The Shatner visits to the Stern show have always been hilarious.

Dick Goes Berserk at Shatner Roast (IMDB News)

American comedian Andy Dick reportedly went berserk backstage at the Comedy Central Roast Of William Shatner on Sunday, licking screen siren Farrah Fawcett and biting a journalist. New York Post reporter Mandy Stadtmiller claims she watched Dick lick Fawcett, Carrie Fisher and comedian Patton Oswalt before turning his attentions to her. He allegedly groped her, tried to kiss her, proclaimed his love for her and then bit her hand, telling her, "Baby please, put in something nice. They're so mean. I'm not weird. Maybe I'm a little weird, they make me out to be a monster, I'm not a monster. I just want to have fun, baby please." She also accuses him of urinating in front of her and offering her cocaine. The show will air on Sunday August 20.

From Andy Dick's Wikipedia page:
On May 15, 1999, Andy Dick drove his car into a telephone pole in Hollywood. He was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and hit-and-run driving. He later plead guilty to felony cocaine possession and two other misdemeanor charges--marijuana possession and possession of "a smoking device." After completing an 18-month drug diversion program, a judge dismissed felony and misdemeanor drug charges against him.
Sound's like somebody has relapsed.

I heard Artie explain all this yesterday on Howard, and I hope every bit of the Andy Dick stuff is cut out. Sounds like he ruined the whole thing.

Andy Dick is talentless and annoying. He should be euthanized so he'll quit wasting oxygen.

There are a few clips from the roast on YouTube, but this one is by far the best:

I hate Andy Dick as much as I love Newsradio (and that's a whole lot). He was fine on that show, but afterwards, his feeble attempts to stay in the limelights have been pathetic.

I can't wait to see this. I wish they would start it at midnight and show it uncut.

Awesome! I'm glad Nimoy was involved in some capacity. The show would have seemed incomplete without him. The Takei clip is pretty funny too, though it does have Andy Dick trying to lick Nichelle Nichols in it...

Holy crap I loved Artie's joke about Janeane Garafalo. Which is weird, because I like her.

We didn't need the taped stuff from Ben Stiller and Sandra Bullock, even though Sandra looked pretty hot.
