Hell's Kitchen - Season 2 Discussion

http://us.ent3.yimg.com/tv.yahoo.com...en_240_001.jpg

World-renowned chef (and raging firebreather) Gordon Ramsay is back for a second season of "Hell's Kitchen." Ramsay's hope is to find America's next culinary star and install him or her as executive chef in a new restaurant at the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa near Las Vegas. Additionally, the winner will be eligible to receive a financial interest in the restaurant and assist in its design. But before that, the six men and six women -- who will be divided along gender lines -- must survive Ramsay's wickedly ridiculous culinary boot camp. Among this season's candidates are a pizza maker from Texas, a cafeteria chef from Brooklyn and a marketing executive from Chicago.

I vote that the fish monger will fly under the radar until the very end where
he will be kicked off for being useless.

and how can they not know a person's age?
age is unknown?

Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmare has been airing on BBC. Thats a good show, too.

lordwow 06-12-06 07:04 PM

God damn I love this show.

Buford T Pusser 06-12-06 07:52 PM

It's taping right now. Mrs. Pusser awaits the show with baited breath. Time to get her a mint.

Virginia in that bathing suit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Rival11 06-12-06 08:55 PM

I love this show

I think I'm rooting for Heather now

Spoiler:
She was so badass after getting burned, and kicked ass in the first episode

This is one of those shows like the apprentice, where it's completely obvious who the final two will be...Heather and JacaSHMOW...they need to get rid of the sweaty guy, he makes me vomit thinking he is making food.

Buford T Pusser 06-12-06 09:31 PM

Somehow we only taped the second part.

Let me know if it's playing again.

dsa_shea 06-12-06 10:12 PM

They sure like showing cleavage in a show about cooking. I'm looking forward to things heating up in the near future.

Buford T Pusser 06-12-06 10:47 PM

I thought it wasn't fair to expect the fishmonger to cut steak. He's not a meatmonger. :(

Sweet Baby James 06-13-06 12:05 AM

This is the first time that I ever watched this show and I must say that I'm shocked. I thought that the contestants would have some kind of culinary credentials like they did on the Top Chef. I think that I could cook better than these slobs. Here's my breakdown on the participants-

Tom- the slimy ex-stockbroker. His only skill thus far is sweating into the food.
Keith- thinks he's a rapper with his sideways ball cap. Doesn't even know how to write out an order.
Larry the fishmonger- we hardly knew you. Couldn't take the heat and stressed his way into the ER. Somehow the rest of the cast were able to carry on.
The con( I can't even remember his name. Maybe it's DOC024358)- definitely was someone's bitch in the joint. Great credentials there-dishing up slop to fellow felons.
Giacomo(spelling?) the pizza man with the scooby hairdo- that's who I want running a fancy resort restaurant, a pie flipper from the Hut.
Gabe- a total waste of space. Didn't have a clue in the kitchen.

Now for the ladies-

Polly- a complete dunce. Couldn't make a single appetizer after 2 hours.
Sarah- a complete dumbass. They are setting her up to be the heavy.
Virginia the salad maker- her signature dish is a fucking salad, real impressive. At least she's decent looking.
The 39 year butch blonde(I can't remember her name)- I can barely even remember her.
Maribele(something like that)- another completely forgettable personality so far.
Heather- the only one that shows promise. She's only 25 and is a sous chef in charge of a 12 person staff. Made a decent signature dish and took over
Polly's mess of an appetizer. Smacked Sarah down for celebrating in the kitchen and kept her composure after getting burned. She should win, but we'll see.

I'll keep watching for the laughs.:)

Oh how I missed this show. Gordon is definitely the dog's bollocks.

Starting 6/28 four episodes from series 2 (series 2, part 2) will be airing for the first time on BBC America. I was only recently made aware of these. So if you think you have already seen Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares/Revisited, you haven't seen it all yet.

This was my first time watching this show. There was nothing on tv at the time, and I'm kinda glad because I watched both episodes. I'll see this thing out, it's great.

Anubis2005X 06-13-06 02:21 AM

Yeah, first time for me too, quite liked it. I hope Sara gets booted soon as she's way too annoying...

mphtrilogy 06-13-06 07:39 AM

This crew ain't no Top Chef. At least that show had some folks who could actually cook.

This show is all about the "bleeping".

This show is great. I loved when the Ramsay was cursing out the customer who wanted more pumpkin.

Ya, some people thinks its staged... but I dunno. I think some people are really ballsy/stupid and want their 15 seconds of fame. It's badass how he has no qualms about telling people off.

I would have put her up against Polly in round 1. She just has a poor work ethic/attitude IMO, Like Gordon smacked her down for, you don't celebrate anything.

zuffy 06-13-06 10:53 AM

First time watching this show. Wow, the kitchen is a disaster. I can't believe the amount of foods they wasted. Just unbelievable. Looks like I got myself a new show to watch for the summer.

vegasbaby 06-13-06 01:17 PM

First time watcher. What a riot.

Ramsay is 'Pure Gold, Jerry'.

SoSpacey 06-13-06 01:21 PM

The only thing I did not like about last nights show was when Gordon changed the pair that were up on the block.

I mean, whats the point of picking someone as the best, having them chose which 2 are up on the block only to make your own decision?

Was he right? Sure. That guy definately deserved to go. But it isnt up to him.

The person who is exempt from going home has the right to put whomever he wants on the block. He could have been doing that for strategy. Gordon snatched that right away from him.

Mok 06-13-06 02:16 PM

Great stuff I love this show, I was praying it would come back for a second season. I do agree Heather is the front runner to win the whole thing, I mean damn she is tougher than Jack Bauer!

rkndkn 06-13-06 04:00 PM

I thought last season's contestants showed a lot more promise in the early stages. . .

Giacomo should cut his hair because Ramsay hates it.
