I expect quite a bit of turmoil in the Gavin family this season.

Oh yeah! That's what I'm talking about.

I think he deserved it though.

I can't go to sleep now. I feel like hitting something.

The tape and Tommy's reaction to his daughter's new spiritual path were funny.

I was surprised that Tommy found out about his brother already. Isn't Johnny supposed to be a PI? Definitely blew his cover.

BTW: What were they saying about Condi Rice? I didn't quite understand that conversation.

Re: Condi Rice - it was just about her asserting her "power" in her role as SecState, as a metaphor for male virility.

The first 50 minutes were pretty funny, and then the big conclusion at the birthday party delivered the big finish rivaling Cain-Abel proportions.

How the hell can a show be this funny and this riveting at the same time?

Denis Leary rules.

After a lackluster season premiere, this episode was fantastic.

Awesome f'in episode.
Hell of an ending.
Johnny had it coming to him man.
The tape gag was hilarious.
Lots of funny little lines that you had to listen closely for.

Amazing episode. So funny and so powerful but neither part detracts from the other. The look on Tommy's face when he was walking away was great. Denis Leary deserves Emmys for his acting and for his writing.

The tape was hilarious and so was the bit with the travel mug and Tommy correcting everyone that used the word "kitty."

I do NOT buy that Tommy's Ex and his brother would be holding hands under the table, especially right in front of him.

Great episode!!!! I loved it when Shea spit out the cigar hoping that Tommy didn't see it in the opening.

No kidding - and I'm still in shock that they didn't drag it out a few more episodes. John definitely did not put up much of a fight - he knew it would happen one day.

His interactions w/ his daughters always crack me up.

Shea is so pathetic right now. He pours his heart out to his friend and the guy just laughs his ass off because it's so absurd that he thinks Kenny's joking.

Can we please not call the can 'the kitty'?

That was really stupid but keep two things in mind:
1) They bond over how much they hate Tommy and on some level they want to stuff it in his face;
2) They're idiots.

If I'm Garrity, I don't sleep after seeing what Tommy did to John, and Tommy knows that Garrity is banging Tommy's sister (from observing Garrity taking out the cherry from her drink at the birthday party).

When the fight gets to the street, Maggie is smiling (standing next to Kenny), but she's probably used to her brothers beating the crap out of each other. She was only concerned with not spilling her drink at the start of it inside the restaurant.

I thought it was funny after Tommy throws Janet on top of the car, and she's complaining about her arm/elbow hurting, and Franco stops and has Sheila tend to Janet, and suddenly Janet's elbow's feeling better, and she's swing her arms and warning her not to come near here (mainly for Sheila's dalliance with Tommy last season). That got a good "heh" from me.

OH that's exactly right---he saw him take that cherry out, and there's only one way Garrity could know she doesn't like fruit in her drinks. That 2-second move is coming back to him in a big way, I'm sure...
