I think Lee had a good idea -- choosing hard workers who have no chance of outshining him in the spotlight, but he would need to hold their hand the whole way and be their leader since none of them have an ounce of leadership in them. His "I'm not going to micromanage" approach might work with a team that has Tarek and Andrea in it, but it''' bite him in the ass with his group.

Since it is Leary's firemen's association, I was surprised no one had the idea to auction off a walk-on role on Rescue Me, but maybe NBC wouldn't allow them to do that. Still, you could do a lot with the firefighter theme besides, "let's auction off cars". Even a package where someone got to hang out at the station all day and ride in the firetruck would be more exciting.

Here's my problem with the Apprentice final task : It's too subjective and the result may not mean anything. Occasionally it can be the deciding factors (like the street smart / book smart season when it was pretty even until the finale when Kendra won because the other gal was slamming her teammates), but usually there's one candidate that's way ahead of the other so that the result of this task is meaningless. Remember S2 when Kelly clearly had the inside track over Jen? Both did well on their final task, but Jen was ripped to shreds in the boardroom. It's not fair, but that's the way it plays out. This season again we have an inside track guy (Sean, obviously), so unless Lee raises a million dollars for the firefighters while Sean and Tammy fornicate onstage and again on the buffet table at the after party, we sorta know the outcome of this task is meaningless.
They need to up the stakes : Whichever finalist does better in the final task (by whatever criteria they use) get hired. Period. Then it would be worth watching the finale.

The problem I have with the women representing the Leary Foundation is that she keeps saying how this is a big time multi-million dollar event and needs to come off great. If it is soo important for you to have the event run smoothly why have it done by a new fresh person on a game show?

Thankfully this was only a 90-minute finale (anyone remember that 3-hour fiasco of a finale from a few seasons ago?).
I have no idea why Lee would be picked, he and his crew flunked all the "soft" skills portion of the event, and their auction didn't bring as much to the table either.
I finally saw that the G6 is going for $28K-$31K, so with the bids getting into the $35K-$40K range, I guess the auction winners didn't overpay all that much for that car.

Most anti-climatic finale ever!!! Thought Trump would rip into Lee about how poorly the celebrity portion of the event went! Lenny is the most inept candidate ever, picking him to handle the celebrities was a horrible decision. I thought Jamie Lee Presley was gonna pop a vein! And for goodness sakes, I didnt graduate from Cornell with honors, and I still would know enough to greet Trump when he arrived. Horrible, horrible job.
But still, no drama at the end..."Lee, your fired" and then Sean got in his car and left. Where was he driving to? That was pretty wierd..
Was surprised to see the candidates split 50-50. But I know viewers choice was lopsided in Sean's favor. Would have loved to hear them talk to the other candidates a while. Geez, it just was a really boring finale..

The last bit of product placement (Sean driving off in the G6) is silly. Sean should be on stage soaking in all the love and applause from the audience. It looked like Lee was still working Trump afterwards, too. Carolyn had to give Lenny an awkward hug, too.

Definitely anti-climatic. Absolutely no discussion of the final task and how they did. I think Trump knew who his winner is and just said F it, no more mind game.
I like to know who in Trump's organization was responsible with the idea of Sean driving away in the Pontiac. WTF? Where are you driving to? It would have been better for the whole cast to be outside congradulating Sean in his new car.

I was surprised at how Trump and everyone was acting how "close" it was. Did they not watch how the final task was edited? It was obvious to the audience who the clear winner was. The only thing they could fault Sean on was doting on Tammy and not being in a few sponsor meetings. Whereas, Lee and his team had their heads up their asses the whole time.
Then Trump acted surprised about the viewer vote being lop-sided. Well, duh!
And I always thought that Carolyn and Bill Rancic were Trump-yes-men, but damn his kids are even worse. When he asked for their opinions, they had no opinion.
I always get a laugh during the boardroom when Carolyn or Bill Rancic act like they are leaning one way and then when Trump fires the other person, suddenly they are all up his ass "Oooh, you made the right choice." It reminds me of that Sinatra Group skit from SNL with Steve Lawence & Eydie Gorme: "You said it, Chairman!"

They need to revamp the format of the finale.
Having the finalists run disparate, incomparable events is pointless.
Senseless that they abandon the selling task right when a selling task would actually be compelling.

I still think up until the final task Lee had a pretty good shot at winning this thing. Butu he completely fell apart at the end. He lost all judgment, creativity, etc. I think up until the final task Sean was a slightly weaker choice simply because he is the safe choice. There's nothing really wrong with him, but he doesn't appear to have much in the way of creativity and fast thinking. He's capable, but he also has a tendency to become flustered under pressure. He all but gave up in the Xbox task when the display didn't come in, and he freaked when he lost Andrea.
That said Sean made the one brilliant masterstroke in simply surrounding himself with the best people, whereas Lee did not. I'm assuming Roxanne did a capable job in whatever unexciting but important task she had, because we never saw her and thus it was not good tv. Lee should have fought for Tarek, and had someone like Charmaine there to deal with the players/talent/whatnot, as Lenny is probably the last person you want dealing with other humans.

Interesting that all of the previous winners were there except Kendra (at least I did not see her). I don't recall her being heard from since she won, as opposed to the other winners popping up every so often.

'Apprentice' Winner Has No Wedding Plans
Jun 8, 11:15 PM (ET)
LOS ANGELES (AP) - "Apprentice" winner Sean Yazbeck and show contestant Tammy Trenta are an item, but have no plans to exchange rings.
"We're not getting married," Yazbeck said in a phone interview Thursday. "At this stage, it's way too soon to be talking about that."
Yazbeck said he and Trenta started dating after the filming of the show's fifth season.
During Monday's "Apprentice" finale in Los Angeles, host and real estate mogul Donald Trump commented on Yazbeck's affections for Trenta, and asked whether he was going to marry her.
Yazbeck answered yes, "but I thought I was answering whether I loved her," he said Thursday. After that, rumors of the couple's engagement started circulating.
In an interview with Inside Edition, Trenta also said they aren't engaged.
