Yeah ... Bill didn't really hit a good stride in what we saw. Too bad the annoying girl won immunity. IMO, it's a tossup between her and Roz as to who is the unfunniest.

Maybe it was too cerebral for those reared on Golden Girls and Home Improvement?

(no offense to thos who enjoy those)

No, too cerebral for a west coast audience...thay are comedy cheeseballs

Gil Jawetz 06-28-06 08:43 PM

Just watched it. Gotta say, Bill sleep walked through his set. But this blog has a good point that Michelle, being the only woman, had a good advantage in this 3-1 challenge. Interesting.

cornflakeguy 06-28-06 11:57 PM

Avoiding the fact that Bill's set wasn't all that great in the first place....did you get a good look at the audience they were playing to?

Lots of diversity. Hispanics, blacks, some whites, Asians etc...most all under 30. Bill's "40-something-white-guy" humor wasn't going to go over at all.

I'd like to know what led to Josh wearing the nerd glasses to his taped challenge vote.

And Josh's website is great, It's original.

So I got curious and looked up April Macie's website. Well she doesn't have one. But she does have a MySpace page with some pictures that prove to all that she knows how her bread will be buttered because it won't be from her comedy.

Bill also seemed to lack confidence in his set. He didn't bring his A material ... if he has any.

Michelle's timing is perfect.

None of them were funny :-(

Josh Blue is turning out to being one of the only funny people in the "House" and he hasn't even shown his stuff. Nobody apparently has the balls to pick him.

Weak season.

I'll be honest. I think she's incredibly unattractive. Everything about her screams FAKE!!!!!, and I can't stand that look. At times she looked like an animatronic department store mannequin.

It won't be from her web design either!

Bill did not do great, but I can't believe the audieance liked Joey Gay better. All he does is shout. I had to mute the TV halfway into his act. He just got so loud. Yech!

Jeraden 06-29-06 09:26 AM

I hadn't been impressed with Bill Dwyer at all in any of his routines, in fact, I thought he got picked initially only because he was already a semi-well-known name. I'm not a big Joey Gay fan either, but I preferred Joey to Bill this week. Joey would be a lot better if he didn't have to shout everything. He actually had some decent material, and the shouting detracted from it.

Big Boy Laroux 06-29-06 02:08 PM

ok, half of april macie's act is that she used to be fat in high school. she's got a pic of her up on her myspace page from her high school days. um, not fat at all.

nny 06-29-06 10:04 PM

Wow, I thought Bill was the funniest one on the show. Michelle's act was much better this week, but she was still by far the worst of the 4. From what we saw of the acts, I thought Joey did a better job than Chris, but Chris does deserve to stay in the house.

I can't believe nobody liked Bill. I've never even been a fan of his in the past, but he consistently impressed me. I was eating during his act tonight and I started to laugh so hard, I almost choked.

Drop 06-29-06 10:18 PM

I don't know how anyone could like Joey. His delivery is just shouting every word and getting louder and louder, and his material is so typical and hacky. He was just obnoxious and annoying.

I mean when he would talk regularly that was fine, how hard is it to deliver in that fashion? He would be two times better if he just stopped shouting.

I just want to say I liked Bill the most out of the four, but he's done better. Also, I think he makes a better host than a standup.

As soon as I read 'host', it hit me. He was the host on MTV's 'That 70's House.' And yes he does make a better host.

Chris

Finally watched this show after being disappointed in the ones that were picked to go in the house. Didnt get any better for me. That Adam Corolla stuff was pitiful. The funniest part about this whole show is that they have to go to a boiler room to vote. And what is with Anthony Clark, can he be any more serious????

This one took me to bonertown.

Yep. Nothing like gingham to prime the pump.

Ayre 07-04-06 05:32 PM

"This one took me to bonertown."

Took me to a trailer park .... just outside of Bonertown.

cornflakeguy 07-04-06 11:27 PM

She's pretty well put together. Now if she just wouldn't make the "dumb buck tooth" face she'd be ok.

Goldberg74 07-11-06 11:49 PM

Challenge... a Roast.

Host = Jim Norton (LCS Season 2)

Judges = Gilbert Godfrey, Phyllis Diller, and Alonzo Boden

Roastee = Gabriel Sans

Winner = Chris Porter... but no immunity.

Okay... someone got kicked out for having a Blackberry:

Spoiler:
Gabriel Iglesias

The following three went to the Head to Head to Head:

Spoiler:
Kristen Key, Rebecca Corey and Ty Barnett

and this person won the H2H2H:

Spoiler:
And the winner is.... Ty Barnett

So the Final Five are:

Spoiler:
Chris Porter, Josh Blue, Michelle Balan, Roz and Ty Barnett

Live show next week with America picking the winner by phone.

mndtrp 07-12-06 01:32 AM

First time watching the show. I'm glad Rebecca got kicked off, she was not funny. Her fighting off invisible ninjas was odd as well.

movieking 07-12-06 04:24 AM

The right two went home, IMO.

Jeraden 07-12-06 07:16 AM

The 2 losing comedians were just painful to watch. Ty really wasn't all that great, but you could probably tell chicken crossing the road jokes and beat out those 2 women.

Joeboo835 07-12-06 07:39 AM

i'm going to spoiler this just in case, but its essentially just my opinion

Spoiler:
Anyone else think that Gabriel did that on purpose so as not to lose and ruin what career he had going into this show. He's clearly not the funniest and this would only hurt him in the long run.

as i said after week 2 (first time i watched), there's no one even close to Chris Porter. Doesnt' mean he'll win though cause who konws what america thinks.

Groucho 07-12-06 08:01 AM

Is this how it always works? Narrow it down to six (or, in this case, five) and then one winner from there? The show is paced way too fast.

Not that it matters, Chris Porter is heads above everybody else and should win easily (although I like Josh Blue as well).

Charlie Goose 07-12-06 08:28 AM

I liked Kristin Key during her initial audition but she hasn't done anything funny since. Her routine last night was awful, she was actually talking about setting her cooch on fire.

Chris Porter is so far above everyone, it's not even fair.

The roast was pretty funny, I knew they were going to pick Gabriel. Fat jokes are easy to write.

Geez, the show's over already?
