Official Last Comic Standing discussion + Josh's Make-A-Wish

i was flying to Manchester, NH today, and was actually scanning the people in the Atlanta airport waiting to see if Josh (from RockStar: Supernova) was waiting to board - saw on the show that he's from Manchester.
Anyway, as i'm looking, i see a guy with curlyish hair wearing a baseball cap, waiting to board another flight. yep, it was chris porter. he was going on and on to someone about mushrooms...
ok, that last part wasn't true, but i did see him. must have been heading back home.

The funniest comic on finals night was actually

And yes, Anthony Clark is the most unfunny person I've ever seen. And he was so uncomfortable hosting this show, that it made me uncomfortable.
Did you notice that he said 'see you next year on Last Comic Standing'?
They REALLY need to go back to the first season format of spending more time with the comics living together.
They say that the first time is always the best time and in this case the first season of LCS was infinity better than the following seasons, in format, funny and of course the comics, except the best comic didn't win.
Long live Dave Mordal

Mrs. Pusser was sad that Dave Mordal wasn't on the show.
He was in town awhile back and we went to see his show. Good stuff and we talked with him after the show for about five minutes. Seemed pretty nice and was thrilled we could give him coherent directions to a suburban 24-hour Wal-Mart since he left his toothbrush at home.

I loved John Heffron in season 2, but his act has changed a lot. I don't know if it is because he's married and his material reflects that. I wasn't blown away by his new stuff.

Ty's too lowkey to hit it big. Josh does use his CP as a comedic crutch at times, but I think he's is also spontaneously witty as well. Chris is the one that I think might get some play in TV comedies, though, as I think he's the more commercial of the top 3 this season.
Bolden was very good, he's got real good stage presence. Heffron was good, but not as funny as Bolden. Phan was pretty funny too, but I don't think I could handle more than 10 minutes of his act at a time. Jay was good too, but he does seem to be focused on amusing himself moreso than the audience.

To me, Jay seemed to be... well... tipsy.

So why was that fat guy kicked off the show? It looked like it was because he used his cell phone or something. I watched early in the season when he was on and he was pretty funny, but missed the whole thing where he got kicked off.

Yeah, he broke a boat rule of using the cell phone far too much because he said he was missing his girlfriend (but the rule was in place so that the contestants didn't get "new" material from outside sources during competition).

Josh Blue was interviewed on NPR yesterday. It was pretty interesting. If you'd like to listen, here's the link:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...toryId=5653042
He's the last 10 minutes.
All I remember is that he was born in Cameroon, West Africa but raised in St. Paul, Minnesota; he has a brother that lives in Korea and a sister that lives in Mexico; Everyone in his family speaks at least three languages; He studied in Senegal, West Africa, and did an internship at a zoo.
There is also a pretty good article about him from the Olympics website (published before he won):
It's even funnier know it was real.
Here's a joke that he does, that wasn't on LSC:

Three summers ago, the comic crashed his bike and separated his shoulder. He was in a rush to meet a friend of a friend and guilty of having too much caffeine ("which makes me more twitchy," he admits) when the front wheel of his bike hit a divot in the road and jackknifed.
Denver's mobile drunk tank was the first to arrive on the scene, assuming that Blue - because of the slightly slurred speech - was intoxicated.
"I had to convince them I wasn't drunk because they couldn't conceive of a guy with cerebral palsy riding a bike," explains Blue.
The incident now serves as one of Blue's funniest bits.
"They pulled up in front of me and I was like, 'Uh Oh, wait a minute fellas, I'm not drunk, I have cerebral palsy,' " says Blue in his act. "And they said, that's a pretty big word for a drunk."

pinata242 - I dont think Dat Phan is all that bad. The parts of his act that they showed on the first season were not that bad and certaintly not bad compaired to some that made it this season or last year. Was he the best of the bunch? No. I think that Dave Mordel should have won, but you have to put that on the audience that judged them both when they went head to head. I dont know why some of the contestants decided to make fun of him in the house but that is neither here or there. I think NBC really feels that he didn't deserve to win because they never play up the fact that he won or has made many appearances on the following seasons as far as I know.

Maybe Dat Phan was featured more than anyone else and that is why we heard the same jokes over and over again.
