I, too, am recording because of work schedules.

Not all DVR people are anti-"live tv"

Wow, I never thought of that. "Watch the show live." That's incredible. It's going to take me a few hours to wrap my head around that concept.

Or, maybe I'll watch my TV shows however the fuck I want to watch them. Yeah, I think I'll do that instead.

Why does the guy even have to address the nation, anyway? We all know what he plans to do. Hearing him yammer on about it in his own chimp-like way is redundant at this point.

Bravo to them if true. It would certainly get them the lion's share of viewers who'd gladly tune in to any original programming while the address is being forced down everyone else's throats on all other major networks. However, I'd venture to say they just haven't publicized their plans.

According to tvguide CBS's shows will start after the speech. No info on times so I'd assume the King of Queens will start the same time as Prison Break at 8:20EST and then go from there.

I just set my DVR to record 1 1/2 hours after the program is scheduled to end. If Bush talks longer than that...oh wait, he's discussing Immigration...I better set it to 2 hours after the program ends.

This is seriously causing a logjam at 9pm:

Grey's Anatomy
Prison Break overrun
Everwood
How I Met Your Mother overrun

I am going to have every Tivo in the house working overtime to make sure I get it all.

Jadzia,

Won't your overruns (PB, HIMYM) end before GA & Everwood begin?

Grey's Anatomy starts on time at 9:00EST. With the over run Prison Break and HIMYM won't be over until 9:20.

I hate watching stuff on my computer.

I usually watch TV while I am doing other stuff on my computer, and watch most of my shows that way--but I have a hard time doing both on the computer if that makes any sense.

I FTP the shows to my XBOX and play them from there on the TV in DVD quality.
