As much as I enjoy NBC's comedies, the network may need to rethink the way they are making sitcoms. Their comedies may have generally high quality, but they just aren't attracting viewers. Perhaps the shows are a little too hip for their own good. For some reason people don't like to watch sitcoms that don't have a live studio audience or a laugh track. A show like Scrubs will probally become a bigger hit once its off the air and as it goes into syndication more & more it will probally gain a bigger audience. the reason ER has had its lowest ratings ever is because James Woods is a big star & ER isn't the great show it used to be. It's still good but without any real big star to lead the show it isn't going to attract as big of an audience. They should just bring George Clooney back. NBC would be broke but at least ER would be the #1 show on thursdays. Nice to see Cold Case get back to its normal ratings, last week they only got 8 million this week they are back up to 12 which is nice to see. Whats happening to the viewers for the amazing race? |

5.64 million for Drive? Unfortunately, I don't see it lasting more than 1 more episode (at least on Mondays). if it doesn't greatly improve next week, it'll probably be gone (or banished to Friday nights for the last couple episodes). Not exactly surprising, but disappointing since I've enjoyed it more than I expected.

Since it was the lowest rated series in primetime (the CW network doesn't count as a player), I can't see how Drive WON'T be banished to Friday nights... Not unless Fox is in love with the series (like NBC is with Friday Night Lights) and will give it time, but I don't see that happening.

Considering Drive is a serial drama, there is no way in hell the ratings will get any better next week or any week after that. It's very disappointing to see Tim Minear suffer through another low rated show.
I asked a co-worker of mine if he was interested in watching Drive and he said no mainly because he watches alot of TV already and picking up another show so late in the season is overkill. Maybe middle American, who actually has a Nielsen box, has the same theory. |

Yeah, I know NBC.com isn't myspace, but I cannot see that helping the ratings enough to keep it going. |

Ok. I think it's fucking awesome that Dancing With the Stars got better ratings than any show you like. Happy? By the way- for the record, I have made three comments towards you. I would hardly consider that "whining & complaining at no end" about every post you make. At least i actually was talking about the primetime tv ratings insteed of just coming in here and giving people shit. I have stopped the daily reviews becuase I'm sick of the whining and i don't bash shows anymore, i was just stating a fairly normal post and i see no problem in it. calling my posts diarrhea is uncalled for and if you don't like my post fine. It's simple if you don't like my posts don't read them! I don't go around calling peoples posts diarrhea, If i don't agree with there opinions fine but im not going to complain at them. Either post something that has to do with the subject or don't post here. This is the last thing I'm going to say to you regarding this because i like to stay On Topic. Sorry for going Off Topic. |

It actually lost over a million viewers from last week. I was annoyed at the time. |

How about adding him to your ignore list or skipping over his posts rather than bringing the thread down trying to run him out of here? And yes, I could put you on my ignore list as well, but you're starting shit that is carrying over to several other posters. |

I'm just glad that CBS is actually giving King of Queens some respect by airing the final episodes in a good timeslot. It should have been airing on Mondays all along. Its nice that they are airing the final episodes after two & a half men. CBS has given alot of shows this year disrespect like 'Close to home' which does great for CBS in its respective timeslot but just because its not #1 show in the demo that CBS wants it in they want to cancel the show. Lets hope the ratings stay strong for the king of Queens over the next 4 weeks and when the 2 part series finale ('China Syndrome 1 & 2') comes may. 14 they will get strong season finale ratings to put a great show to an end. |
I like King of Queens, but that last episode was pretty weak...hopefully they are better the rest of the way.

NBC's downward spiral ...
From Studio Briefing (04.18.2007) NBC's ratings last week were its worst during a regular season since Nielsen's "people meters" were introduced 20 years ago -- and may have been the network's worst ever. Not a single NBC show was listed in the top 20, and only two, the Monday edition of Deal or No Deal and the once unbeatable E.R., made it into the top 30. ("You know things are bad at NBC when Howie Mandel is the main attraction," TV columnist John Maynard wrote today in the Washington Post.) Fox held on again to the top two positions on the Nielsen list with its two editions of American Idol, but it was also hit by a two-hour ratings misfortune on Sunday night with the premiere of Drive, which attracted only 6 million viewers. CBS once again emerged as the highest-rated network of the week with an average 7.3 rating and a 12 share. Fox placed second with a 6.2/10, edging out ABC, which rook third with a 6.1/10. NBC was far behind with an average 4.5/8. Among the nightly newscasts, ABC's World News With Charles Gibson increased its lead slightly as it averaged a 6.0 rating and a 12 share. NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams placed second with a 5.7/12, while the CBS Evening News With Katie Couric continued to shed viewers, posting a 4.6/9. |

Is it me, or does it seem that House is keeping more and more of Idol's lead in?
|
Yeah, House only dropped 10k in the 9:30 half-hour and actually rose in the 18-49 demo.
