Surprised there has not been more discussion on Michael's motives... here are a couple of possibilities:
1) He has been drugged/brainwashed/"sick". He is really now an "other".
2) He was let go and made a deal that he would kill Anna Lucia.
3) He wants to appear to Henry that he is an other, so then he can infiltrate them and get Walt back.
Anyone else have a different theory?

Well, Michael did say he was sorry about him thinking he had to kill A-L before he shot her, so perhaps it is a far-fetched ploy to get Walt back. (But I'm pretty tired of Walt anyway).
How long is Locke going to be hobbling on crutches? At the "2 days/between episodes" rate, he'll spend half of next season on crutches as well (plus Sun will barely
showing by the end of next season as well).

I'm wondering if Jack will recognize Michael's gunshot wound as a self-inflicted one? Though he's a neurosurgeon, he may have some knowledge of this sort of thing? Just throwing guesses out there.

Why did AL not talk about Goodwin killing the guy they had in the pen? That would completely deflate Henry's defense of Goodwin and the others.

I think Michael looked like death warmed over when he shot Libby because she's an Other, too. He was sad when he shot AL, but he was horrified that he had shot Libby. I think she will keep his secret and say that Henry did it. Henry came for Locke, Libby came for Hurley. JMO
And the sex scence between Sawyer and AL was lame. He has wayyyyy better chemistry with Kate.
I think its pretty clear that Michael was there to make the trade - kill AL and free Henry in return for.... ? Walt? Also, I called bullshit as soon as Michael said there were only 2 guns. I mean, they got more than that from Jack in the jungle, so he was totally full of crap. Jack is way too green to not have suspected anything. His faith in human goodness is annoying... just like Locke's.
I still want know what happened with his marriage and how Locke was put in his wheelchair. I totally didn't understand the Jack-sister subplot. I'll have to think about it some more.

There in no way Libby is dead, when they showed Hurley in the preveiw he didn't seem to shook up about anything. Unless he didn't know yet. Great episode about freakin time!

One reason I hope Libby is not dead is that it'll create another loose end.
I mean, we find out that Jack was the surgeon in charge of Shannon's dad's life and Shannon dies, so he'll never know about that.
Now we see that A-L had known his father and now she's gone, so he'll never know about that.
If Libby is gone, I find it hard to imagine Hurley will ever remember where he knows her from regardless of the clues (clinical psychologist, flintsones).
Whether or not any of those side-stories would have ever been fleshed out or were just intended for us to fill in the blanks ourselves, I don't know if we'll ever know. But I feel that taking time away from the main plot(s) to make these points is just a waste of all of our collective time, especially if they knew that they'd end up unresolved in the show.
Unless all those connections are just meant to be winks at the fans to keep the conversation going beyond what was actually shown.

Remember a few episodes back Zeke told Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Locke that Michael would never find them ?
I doubt Michael found them as he said he did. I think he was captured by the Others and either brainwashed or drugged then sent back to free Henry.
Why else would he let him go ?
He could have used Henry to try and get Walt back.

I question whether Michael made a "deal" or not with the others because as Henry said they will "never give Walt back." Now they may mislead him into thinking they will in order to get what they want, but no way he gets Walt back for this.
