Wow they go from throwing axes at Kat to tears and gushing over Elliot.
|
Anyone know who the woman was in the audience who got the very long closeup at the start of the show?
|
I can't wait for the SNL skit when they show Paula putting in drops to show her tears after each performance.
Kat in the Yellow dress was to die for. The performance will probably play back better than what the judges thought they heard in the auditorium. I was actually amazed at how clear her vocals were in the tight spots of that song, but she did not out-sing Whitney, thus got no love from the judges tonight. Elliott was pretty passionate and brought home good vocals, but I didn't like the song all that much. He been made over quite a lot if you go back and see what he looked like just 2 months ago. |
out sing whitney? she wasnt very close
and i hope kelllie sounds better than she did in rehearsal.. thats painful! |
what color hair does she have
blonde  rotfl  |
Does Simon ever look at the contestants when there preforming. He always seems to have his head turned.
|
I'ammm sorry..
|
i didnt think kellie did THAT bad... but the song really sounded awkward from her
|
Well, I'm torn between Katherine and Kellie... as to who had the worst performance.
Katherine proved her voice isn't as big and full as she'd like to think; Kellie proved that she's got a ways to go in developing a song emotionally. Elliott - sheese. He's not the greatest showman, but the boy can sing!! I'm in a toss up so far. But three are left... |
It's like that Steve Martin bit about not paying your taxes, you just say: "I forgot." That's how I felt about Kellie's retreat with "I'm Sooorrrryyyy."
If she just had some passion for the song, she could have tore it up, but she was content to just try to land a triple-triple combo at the end of the song, while forgetting to draw in the audience for the beginning and middle of the song. I still like her vocal timbre, but she really needs to understand why she's singing the song, and not just to pick up votes, but to communicate the essence of the song while also imparting a part of her own personality and conviction (which she has lacked for a couple of weeks now). |
Perhaps this will FINALLY get rid of Pickler!
Pick Pickler as the worst! Elliot was great this evening - and I also hated Katharine. TK |
And Paris is boring the crap out of me tonight.
|
booooo paris boooooo
now i finished, off you go ryan  |
As uninteresting as Paris was, she was the best female vocalist tonight. Didn't care for the stylistic choice of ending, though.
|
its not 2 hours tonight.. right?
according to dialidols weekly countdown.. next voting starts in: Next vote begins in 0 days 1 hour 16 minutes and 9 seconds :hscratch: |
Good lord, "I am Paris, hear me roar!!!" That was just an insane amount of bravado and vocal chest-beating from Paris for that particular song, but if she have backed off, she might have been a little more effective in inhabiting a song, and not just wear it like a night shirt running through the grassy knoll on a Sunday afternoon.
|
Always hated what David Foster did as a producer. Nice to see he seems like a pompous dork to go along with his music.

"...The way we wERE!" Yeah, that worked. Still I'm stunned by Katharine's so-so performance. Bad choice of song, bad...
Where's Ace? Ha! |
"He's very interesting." rotfl

Taylor is the man all I can think when I hear Just Once is Last American Virgin.
