the Sopranos -- "Luxury Lounge" -- 04.23.2006

Another great episode this season, and definitely the best since Season 3. This show should be up at the Emmy's for Best Drama and Best Comedy, the writing is great this year.
Only the Sopranos can pull off someone punching Humphrey Bogarts real-life wife in the face, and it turns out hysterical!
Has anyone noticed that Janice has had a very reduced role this season? I used to love her character when she was engaged to Richie Aprile, but she has gotten a bit annoying in the past 2 seasons, so maybe David Chase noticed.
I love this season because every sub-plot comes back to how it effects Tony, and that is what the show has missed the past two years.
I can't wait to see what happens next week......

The Bing girls are usually gross with very bad "chemical balls" as Larry David would call them. While I think that Bing girl featured tonight still had implants, they were very nice and natural looking.

I don't understand why Tony doesn't want Benny offed for running a credit card scam in the restuarant run by his childhood friend. I know he's soft since the coma, but COME ON!
I don't see HOW Bennie would be stupid enough to run the scam in the first place, let alone why Tony would let him live once he found out Bennie was doing it.

I think this is something like the second time that one of Tony's crew blatantly disagreed with one of Tony's decisions...
last week, Paulie got pissed when Tony said he was going to give Vito a pass...he said something like "Fuck that, blah blah blah." This week, it was Benny who told Tony straight out he was going to kill Artie and then Tony could kill him if he had to...and this was after Tony told him to forget about the whole thing. Maybe the beating Tony gave Muscles wasnt as effective as he though it would be.

I wasn't impressed with the episode at all, for most of the reasons already covered.
I thought that the ending with Artie cooking was too Big Night for my liking.

This season has been great.
