Hopefully this particular storyline will be wrapped up tonight, but I doubt it.

Jimmy James 04-05-06 12:34 PM

I believe that one of the TV gossip-meisters indicated that they spoke with Thomas and that he believes this episode is stronger than last week's. We'll see.

Jeremy517 04-05-06 01:36 PM

BTW, it looks like the move to Tuesday happens next week.

yes, this is the last Tuesday episode.
and the Sunday 7pm slot for UPN is TBA for the next two weeks on tvguide.com
I wonder if they are doing away with the SUnday repeats of VM.

i think it depends on where you live for the sunday repeats. since for my area (baltimore upn 24) the next 2 sundays have vm at 7.

What is up with the Beaver? What is up with Wallace? It must be spring fever or something for Wallace, but for Beave?

Logan's body language kills me at times, not only at the dance when the mayor's daughter keeps pestering him, but at the stadium blow-up ceremony, sitting all slack-like.

Poor Thumper.

The Mayor seems to be playing a lot of angles.

Anyhow, it was a good macro episode for the most part.

Zee 04-05-06 09:32 PM

Someone had a theory that
Spoiler:
Beaver was molested by Woody.
Makes sense to me.

Fantastic episode...Veronica and Logan work too well together to keep them apart forever. I also cannot believe that they've actually managed to make Jackie a likable character...amazing turnaround. And what IS up with Wallace?! Can't wait to see how this season ends...

Jackie's likeable? :hscratch:

Patman 04-05-06 11:29 PM

I still have a hard time accepting the 180 that Jackie has supposedly done (so much so that Veronica now hangs with her, i.e. last episode).

GeoffreyL 04-05-06 11:36 PM

Much better episode than last week. The only thing was that I almost felt sorry for Thumper.

Jimmy James 04-06-06 12:01 AM

Screw Thumper. I'm for anything that gets us more Weevil.

dolphinboy 04-06-06 12:11 AM

Pretty good episode and next week looks like it might be back to last years quality.

Funny how on Sunday night Mac isn't even interested in boys and on Wednesdays/Tuesdays she's looking to at least get felt up.

This show WILL make it to a 3rd season and I hope they re-tool again to what worked well last year, lose a lot of the extra characters, and figure out Mac should be part of the permanent cast.

If you buy that a lot of this year's re-tool was about trying to match up with the ANTM lead-in, things could go a couple of different ways. They could try to re-tool to make the show more like Gilmore Girls, or they could try to de-tool the show and get us back to first season form.

Loved the Rushmore refrence at the start from Logan.

Logan won a contest. When the teacher said 'The winner is...logal echolls' he was reading a magazine, but it down, and said 'did someone say my name?' and smirk like Max did.

Gotcha. Nice catch. I figured it couldn't have been as obvious as the Lebowski reference with Vinnie.

This would make a lot of sense, especially with Woody's feel up of Logan.

I really don't think this season is that different from the last. They've just added more angles and mini-mysteries to the main one. Many of you feel that this season has been some great travesty, but I'm just not seeing it. I do think that UPN should allow Thomas to bring Weevil and Wallace on for every episode next season (assuming they both survive), that kind of took away a little of the magic at points.

Charlie Goose 04-06-06 09:32 AM

Steve Guttenberg thought he was sneaky trying to get the disc back from Keith, you knew he wasn't falling for it.

I like Mac, but this upcoming Beaver plot is going to bore me. I don't like the character or his brother.

For some reason, every time I see Steve Guttenberg appear on screen, I keep singing that line from the Stonecutter's Song on the Simpsons: "Who holds back the electric car / Who makes Steve Guttenberg a star? / We do! We do!"

:D

Patman 04-06-06 12:56 PM

I hope Keith was smart enough to make a copy of the DVD before giving it back to the mayor.

Didn't you see Keith playing the video on his computer after Mahoney came in and got his DVD?

BTW, did the show really go where I think it was going with the whole scout's honor/shocker thing?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Steve Guttenberg kicks ass and don't pretend like he doesn't!

LorenzoL 04-06-06 04:44 PM

This episode just raised more questions than answers for me.

After all of the time they invested in the murder of Felix and Logan being blamed for it, Thumper was the guilty party all along and Veronica needed to just being involved to find the guilty party???
It just seems all too convenient the way it was resolved.

I'm not sure what they are trying to do with Beaver and his fear of physical contact.

What was wrong with Wallace and the way he was acting??? I think he needed a mayor kick in the pants last night. Way out of character for him.

BTW, I still don't like Jackie.

Makes sense to me too.

Spoiler:
Although I don't see how that could relate back to the bus crash. However, it could add an interesting twist to Beaver's real estate deal/scam. It could possibly be a way to get revenge on Woody.

Thumper is dead now. Looks like the blame of Felix's AND Thumpers death could be blamed on Weevil...

Jimmy James 04-06-06 09:51 PM

We're expected to believe that Thumper is dead. He could have been handcuffed to a urinal near the stadium. I don't think they were planning that as a gotcha, but it would be wrong to ignore it.

wmansir 04-06-06 10:10 PM

Actually, that's a possibility. The sequence was filmed a bit poorly to convey that Thumper was in the building. I thought they were just being cheap on special effects or expensive location/set shots.

Spoiler:
Was there hints in previous episodes for this season that there was this connection between Woody and Beaver (in regards to the abuse)? Or will this be revealed in an upcoming episode? I guess we can assume that the videotape play a part in it too?

Jeremy517 04-07-06 12:34 AM

30 posts and only one person mentioned the Shocker reference, and no one mentioned the Dirty Sanchez reference? I thought I was on DVDTalk, but I must have wandered into some alternate reality instead. -screwy-

Very good episode

I don't think she's really turned around, she's just trying hard to not be herself. She even said as much. Not having any friends was probably getting old.

Spoiler:
Dick dated his daughter Gia for a while and he and Beaver snuck into Woody's house when Gia had a slumber party.

I loved the scout's honor/shocker gag. The dirty Sanchez was a bit forced, but funny.

EDIT to add:
Spoiler:
Besides the other freaky Goodman family stuff from that episode, I also remembered that Veronica was there to get a handwriting sample from Gia's little brother because the Goodman's were among Meg's clients. Another connection to the bus.

Excellent episode, definitely in the top three of the season.

I'm so glad Weevil was back, he's my second favourite character (after Logan) and it sucks that he hasn't been in a lot of the episodes.

Logan was just totally on tonight. He was cracking jokes left, right and centre and the actor nailed everything. Just brilliant. And I loved that he was going to fire Lamb and in the end stole his parking spot. Hilarious.

Woody feeling Logan up was, well I understand it (Logan = ) but, dude, way to be creepy.

Sucks about Cassidy and Mac, I hope it's not totally over for them. Maybe V helps Mac figure out wtf is wrong with him and helps him?

That last scene with Weevil in confession and when it ended had the creepy children laughing was great. When this show is good, it's fucking fantastic.

hahn 04-07-06 02:47 AM

Sheesh, I feel old. I had NO idea what the Shocker or Dirty Sanchez was while reading this thread. Thank god for Wikipedia.

I love this show but man, do I feel lost sometimes.

movieking 04-07-06 07:36 AM

The Guttenberg groping of Logan was out of the blue, so chances are, he is a serial molester. Beaver was probably the one who made the video, and probably has video of Guttenberg molesting other kids or something. Very odd.

The whole blowing Thumper up was a horrible set of scenes. So we are supposed to think that he was in the stadium? I didn't for a minute. I would be shocked if he was in there, but in a way, I hope he was. If not in the stadium, then it seemed kind of juvenile to just chain him up in a bathroom and stick a cloth in his mouth. This is the workings of a big bad gang? Sounds like high school hazing.

I never thought of that. Hmmm.

Getting blown up/crushed by the debris sounds a little more serious to me than that. I thought it was chilling the way they just handcuffed him down there and left him to die.

I'm pretty much 100% convinced Thumper didn't kill Felix. He never admitted it, and when Weevil accused him, he told him it was an "interesting theory". There's more in store for this storyline I think.
