Call and ask. Say you've been shopping around, and found a deal on sat, and you want to see what Adelphia can do. I'm not familiar with that company, but it's definitely likely/possible that you'll be able to drop it at least a little bit.

Anyway, I second the request: What's FIOS and why is it good?

I'm paying around $140 through Comcast for digital cable and internet. This includes their Platinum package and 2 HD-DVR receivers.

and even if i drop the HBO/Shotime it will still be $116 a month!
Andy,

I have Adelphia as well. You might want to consider dropping to the slower HSI speed at $24.95/mo. I did, and I really didn't notice any difference. However, I don't download a lot of songs/movies, etc. like some might.

Hope that helps,

Thos.

Adelphia here too, just got a rate hike.

Basic cable (70ish channels, no cable box) $53.

I'm seriously looking at Dish now, for about $5 I can get more channels, plus DVR in 2 rooms.

nothing.

my apartment on the UT at San Antonio campus includes Basic+Extended Basic thru TWC, free T1, and I have FOX, ABC, and NBC in HD OTA.

Not too bad.

My rent is $385 a month. My own bedroom in an apartment with 3 other guys. Utilities included.
