THAT'S where I knew her from. It was driving me nuts.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this episode felt weird. It felt like it was written by a guy who had never seen an episode before, but had seen Invasion and that other knock-off, and was told that Lost was "like that, but better." If that makes any sense.

Wow, lots of weirdness going on in the last 10 minutes.

-Hurley reading "Bad Twin" - there have been many theories about cloning or something like that going on on the island - just the writers picking on the fans?

-Glen Miller, and Hurley saying "or what year?" - time warp? Or just more attempted comedy?

-Charlie took Sun? Then WTF is this: http://www.lost-media.com/modules.ph...lbum=906&pos=3

-How is Sawyer going to keep the gun location secret? Wouldn't it be easy for someone to either steal his gun when he's sleeping - making him go get another, then tracking him, or just follow/track him when he goes to them?

An extra.

HE Pennypacker 02-08-06 09:51 PM

I did a little googling for those Evangeline pics. Enjoy. I sure did.

EDIT:

Pics are still kinda crappy quality. Better than the others though.

zuffy 02-08-06 09:52 PM

Or stunt double.

Jimmy James 02-08-06 09:59 PM

Or red herring.

The Ferret 02-08-06 10:00 PM

I missed tonight, can I get a summary?

Would they be re-airing this over the next week, if so, when?

Red Dog 02-08-06 10:00 PM

Well, things got a whole lot more interesting.

chanster 02-08-06 10:01 PM

I believe I read somewhere that they are publishing that manuscript as a book...its basically a way to pump more dollars into the producer's pockets..

Here is the book on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...Fencoding=UTF8

Here is the product description from Amazon

Sometimes evil has a familiar face . . .

Paul Artisan, P.I. is a new version of an old breed -- a righter of wrongs, someone driven to get to the bottom of things. Too bad his usual cases are of the boring malpractice and fraud variety. Until now.

His new gig turns on the disappearance of one of a pair of twins, adult scions of a rich but tragedy-prone family. The missing twin -- a charismatic poster-boy for irresponsibility -- has spent his life daring people to hate him, punishing himself endlessly for his screw-ups and misdeeds. The other twin -- Artisan's client -- is dutiful and resentful in equal measure, bewildered that his "other half" could have turned out so badly, and wracked by guilt at his inability to reform him. He has a more practical reason, as well, for wanting his brother found: their crazy father, in failing health and with guilty secrets of his own, will not divide the family fortune until both siblings are accounted for.

But it isn't just a fortune that's at stake here. Truth itself is up for grabs, as the detective's discoveries seem to challenge everything we think we know about identity, and human nature, and family. As Artisan journeys across the globe to track down the bad twin, he seems to have moved into a mirror-world where friends and enemies have a way of looking very much alike. The P.I. may have his long-awaited chance to put his courage and ideals to the test, but if he doesn't get to the bottom of this case soon, it could very well cost him his life.

Troup's long-awaited Bad Twin is a suspenseful novel that touches on many powerful themes, including the consequence of vengeance, the power of redemption, and where to turn when all seems lost.

About the Author
Bad Twin is the highly-anticipated new novel by acclaimed mystery writer Gary Troup. Bad Twin was delivered to Hyperion just days before Troup boarded Oceanic Flight 815, which was lost in flight from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles in September 2004. He remains missing and is presumed dead.

dstrauss 02-08-06 10:06 PM

Did I also see that one of the books Locke was looking through in the hatch was "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge"?

aktick 02-08-06 10:10 PM

Gary Troup, eh? Anagram for "purgatory?" :nopanic:

Josh H 02-08-06 10:22 PM

Excellent episode.

Looks like they're tossing the Locke camp vs. Jack camp idea out...unless we'll have 3 groups now. That was sorely needed, something major to happen to create more drama among the survivors.

And it looks like the island plot will be heating up soon as well.

Can't wait for the rest of the season.

*Spoiler about tonight's episode*
I am feeling so dumb. I LOVE lost and half the fun for me is figuring out things I miss. But I dont "get" the ending...with Sawyer telling his girl to leave, then he sat in the car and counted down and went back in and the bag of money he had given her was back in the chair?? Did she take it back in there?
Please forgive my stupidity!!

beatccr 02-08-06 10:28 PM

i've been meaning to ask every week, but why are they all out on the beach again? what happened with the caves? i know they were trying to stay together as one group b/c of the others but why pick the beach and not the caves?

Jimmy James 02-08-06 10:30 PM

Perhaps the hatch location makes the beach seem like a much better idea than the caves.

I have no idea, really.

Go to lost.abc.com and listen to the podcast, they mention it there. Basically we're to assume the caves were a "safety" area, and now that they have the hatch, there's no need for the cave area.

He switched bags on her after he loaded the bag up with the money. He gave her the fake bag and slid the real one onto the chair under the table.

My DVR cut off just as Sawyer looks over at the empty driver seat in the car. What happens after that?

Yep. It's a short story, basically about a Southern man who is about to be hanged by Union soldiers, and in the seconds before it happens, he imagines the noose breaking and that he's racing to freedom. But it ends with the guy hanging their with a broken neck.

They also did an episode of Twilight Zone based on this -smile-.

He counts off a few Mississippis, then goes inside and pulls out a dining room chair w/ a bag on it. Said bag has the $600k. He begins to leave and sees a picture of the two smiling. He looks at the pic, lays it face-down, and leaves.

He walks back into the house, the bag of money is on the chair under the table. Cut back to the island he answers Charlies question ("How can someone think up something like that?") .... "I'm a bad person... I've never done a good thing in my life."

edstein 02-08-06 10:51 PM

Thanks guys.

Capsule summary of the episode, all the info none of the fun:

...on second thought, buy the episode from iTunes, you'll be better off.

So, uh, my "it rains when the Others are afoot" theory just got shot to hell if it was Charlie that grabbed Sun.

I disagree. It only shoots your theory if it was "it only rains". This can just be a coincidence.

Red Herring

deadlax 02-08-06 11:17 PM

I thought Charlie followed Locke. I didn't think he was the one taking Sun, but I guess his black hoodie doesr look like what the abductor was wearing.

majorjoe23 02-08-06 11:31 PM

My DVD cut out as Hurley and Sayid were listening to the radio. Can anyone sum up the end.

I padded, but there was a basketball game that ran long.

That would make sense. That little hobbit wouldn't be able to grab Sun and take her like that, would he?

Yeah, I noticed that too. A clue or just a red herring? It would be a hell of an ending for the series to have everyone dying on the beach and the whole thing have been a mass hallucination just prior to death; all of them searching for a reason to live.

Reveals that Charlie "kidnapped" Sun, and agreed to help Sawyer because he wanted to see Locke humiliated. When asked why he did it, Sawyer responds with "I'm not a good person" or something along those lines.

He said he did, so I suppose so.

Great epospde tonight. Very eagerly awaiting next week.

Fok 02-09-06 12:34 AM

atleast the question of who kidnapped Sun was answered instead of being dragged out over 2 seasons.

I knda of like that idea and it could be a better resolution that the writers will come up with, It's just a plane crash, people halluccinate and finely die.

Josh-da-man 02-09-06 12:51 AM

Hmmm... when Sawyer keeps saying that he isn't a "good person," does that mean he's of no interest to The Others? I wonder if that's an intentional thing on the writers' part.

Charlie's a huge asshole. I hope Jin gives the fucking hobbit a beatdown for what he did to his wife.

I'm actually sort of warming up to Ana-Lucia. She has the potential to be a interesting character. I hope she sticks around for a while.

Locke's a tough nut to crack. Every time he does something that appears to be shitty, he usually has a somewhat valid reason for doing it. (Like this week with the guns and Michael.)

What would piss me off if they did go that way is that I had an idea for a Bermuda Triangle movie that had that ending.
