Agreed -- this season is turning out to be far more superior thus far, IMO.

That was quite a scene.

What was Vic's motivation for having Cavanaugh see him there? I assume he could have gone out the back when he got Shane/Ronnie's call.

I took from it that he was told Cavanaugh was walking up and he didn't think he would have time to get out. That and/or he knew that the crying half hysterical CI might give him up.

Vic shoulda just shot Cavanaugh and his CI, then have Ronnie and Shane help get rid of the bodies - done and done...

Jeeze, look at me, I'm rooting for the "bad" guy to off the "good" guy and get away.

Exactly. He needed time to cover his tracks. When he got the call, he had a knife to Emolia's throat (well, it was closer to her chin, but whatever). If he just bolted out the door, he not only stood the risk of getting caught anyway, but in a harder to explain situation, but he needed to make sure that Emolia wouldn't tell Kavanaugh about their little conversation.

Same here, they set up Kavanough as this badass IAD yet barely into his investigation Vic is running circles around him. He already has Lem and the C.I. back on his side and he has a lawyer digging up dirt on Kavenough. And now he has sewn the seed in Kavanough's mind that Aceveda is working with Vic.

As Aceveda said Kavanough is underestimating Vic. Once he realizes that Vic is no pushover it should get more interesting.

Great as usual this week. Proabably the strongest so far this season.

I think that Dutch Boy finding about the investigation will be the key. I really think he will be the one to bring down Vic.

Perhaps Vic finds out about Acevada's encounter with the male flesh and uses that to flip Acevada on his side.

I don't think it needs to come to that. By Vic going to "talk to Acevada" about something with Lem present so Kavanaugh could hear it, Vic has now set Kavanaugh onto the possibility that Acevada is and has always been helping Vic. Taking Vic down is Kavanaugh's initial focus, but I'm sure he's going to be suspicious of Acevada. Taking someone of HIS stature in the public eye down would be much bigger to Kavanaugh than Vic Mackey. Or he could go after both of them, forcing Acevada to ally with Vic in order to get out unscathed politically.

And putting the lawyer onto Aceveda is the final step to turning the whole thing around...if Lem is officially arrested, the lawyer will come in and hint Cavanaugh that Aceveda is behind it all

The post-coitus scene between Shayne and his McPsycho-wife was the one that had me scuttling away from the television with my hands over my face, going "no, no, no, no, no!!"

If Shayne spills the secret of what went down with the "fed" infiltrator they took down, we'd be dangerously close to rehashing plots from seasons past.

Am I the only one hoping they'll pull a Sopranos-esque "Adrianna" storyline with this jealous bitch?

After the first 2 eps this season, I thought this show might be on the decline, but the last 2 eps have been intense as hell.

My season pass didn't Tivo this weeks or last weeks. Has this happened to anyone else?

If you have a DirecTivo, it's a known issue with FX/DirectV changing the associated name with FX. Re-create the SP.

Wasn't that LAST week's ep? Anyhow, I don't think Shane's wife is going to be a factor, now that Vic has warned the guys that IAD is going after Corinne. The last scene of this episode was INTENSE and one of the best moments of TV this year... all I could say was HOLY SHIT and I can't wait for the next episode. This is shaping up to be one of the Shield's best seasons.

Just watched the episode, must say the show keeps getting better. Forrest Witaker has added a new dimension into the show, i really dig his off-kilter performance.

The stare down should be the video they play for Chiklis when he's nominated for some award next year.

I like where the season is going, and i can't wait for the twists to keep on coming. There has to be another bug somewhere they don't know, come on Kavanaugh seems like a smart guy.

Great episode, especially the ending. I'm loving the back and forth chess moves between Vic and Kavanaugh.

BTW...Chiklis' stare-downs are even more powerful because he's so much shorter than EVERYONE else
