KING 5 Seattle: Almost Live! (Joel McHale!)

It's been a few years, but Joel McHale from E!'s 'The Soup' used to be on Almost Live! It's on right now, if anyone cares.

I used to love Almost Live!. Do they still make new episodes? Its been 10 years since I've lived in Seattle, Everett to be more exact. Awesome.

No, they were dropped a few years ago. Nancy Guppy did a local radio morning show, and Joel McHale does E! with weird guest spots on CSI. He even makes fun of himself on CSI on The Soup.

Two of them made it to CSI, actually. Aisha Tyler was on Talk Soup and she had a regular role on CSI last year.

Wow, that's awesome. I heard that Comedy Central used to run repeats. I wish Comedy Central would have a classics channel where they would run this, the State, and various other things. Speed Walker was awesome. What is John Keister doing?

No clue what Keister (or anyone else) is doing. They moved to KIRO for a very brief run (story) a few years ago. I didn't hear about the shows on Comedy Central, I think alot of the jokes would be lost (Ballard, Norm Rice, Ken Schram ).

KING reruns Almost Live! after SNL, but I don't know if they get royalty checks from that. I wish there were more comedy venues in Seattle, though. Giggles is ok, but pretty small. The Moore is obviously expensive, it's too bad there's not a club between the size of the two. Lewis Black was @ The Moore, but it was around $60 a ticket!

I did get to see Mitch Hedberg @ Giggles in '04, though.

I was far too young to have gone to the comedy clubs back when I lived there. I was 14 in 1996 when I moved. I remember having a discussion with someone about Almost Live when I moved to Kansas and appearently they used to show episodes of it over here but they end up dropping it around the time I moved here or something of that nature. Someone was trying to figure out what sketch comedy show did the "Pike or Pine" gameshow and I was like "Holy crap, how did you guys get Almost Live" because there were a lot of "in" Seattle jokes that would be lost when brought away from the Northwest.

It'd be pretty sweet if Joel McHale could somehow manage to drop in a Kent joke from time to time, just for old time sake.

Heck, it'd be easy. He could suggest Kent for when Britney Spears and K-Fed are looking for their new dream home.
