Did I miss dialogue that led us to believe he was pulling the wool over? Just because we were surprised by who opened the door doesnt mean the other characters don't already know.

In the first episode, they were (IIRC) at a concert for that young kid with shaggy hair together. She said that she had to go meet her boyfriend Scott or something, then she left. At the end, you see Tom's friend is gay, and that Judy went home alone. Meaning she's lying about having a boyfriend (or going to see her boyfriend) to make Tom jealous.

No comments about the song? It was kind of predictable that the duet was what they were going to do (that's what ANYONE would've done), but nonetheless, I REALLY enjoyed the song. Hope they keep coming up with good ones and produce a soundtrack, which I'm sure must've been part of the big plan.

I DVR'ed the second episode and was glad I did. This episode was much better than the premiere. Thing seemed to flow a little better and the dialogue was better.
I do wish they would drop the storyline of the lame John Mayer wannabe Wayne. I just find him annoying (just like John Mayer)...though I did like the Jim Morrison comment toward him.
I do like the music conversations since I worked my way thru college at a music store. The Top 5 songs question was one of many that we would go thru everyday.
I am a huge Ben Folds fan but his cameo was the suck. Leanne's was dumb too but how the hell did they wrangle Ben into it? What favor did he owe? And to have Ben on your show and not have him perform...yet Wayne sings 5 freaking times?
I am going to give it a few more shows before I decide to keep it or dump it.
And Brandon needs to eat more salads.

You gotta remember though - the show's not about pop music (eg Leanne Rimes and Ben Folds). It's about "indie" music. Yeah, I know that's a pretty loosely defined nowadays, but even so, Wayne is supposed to be undiscovered talent.
*shrug* I like Wayne (Teddy). He's got a good voice and the music doesn't suck. Unfortunately for you, he's part of a long story arc for the first season. Better get used to him.
