And of course I laughed hysterically at the appearance of Officer George Frankly. But that might've just been me.

Joy's fake "shocked" face and accompanying noise after Darnell found the toe was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on this show.

Joy is fast becoming my favorite character.

My wife was stoked to see a little "Rubberband Man" homage - she's a big fan of those commercials.

For some reason Catalina's story about the guy who stole her village's hats and sold them back to them at inflated prices really cracked me up.

Didn't get the name but I remembered his nickname "El puma del diablo". I think the name was like Jose Luis something.

The funniest line for me was when Earl was trying to come up with the word "hypocrite".

"Hypochronical? Hypolongical? Hypothesis?"

I don't know the actual song title, but the use of the Kill Bill O-Ren Ishii theme was awesome.

Randy's first day at work and already giving a presentation with pie graphs and such cracked me up too.

^ with four empty beer cans at his feet.

"Sorry I couldn't cut you in Earl, I got $175 and didn't know how to split that two ways."

Pretty good overall, not the best.

As Pharoh surmises I don't yet have an HD DVR, and use OTA HD. So it's physically getting in front of a television at a specific time that is the effort for me.

It's not that I'm sooo busy/important or anything... Though my evenings of sitting in front of a TV all night with a pizza are long behind me .

Heck, (SD) DVR has spoiled me so much, I hardly even know what time (day) anything airs anymore, unless I'm trying to solve a three-way conflict, like currently Thursdays at 7 central...

I loved the line from Randy about "Ted from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure when he puts on the magic sunglasses and goes into the Matrix".

THIS is exactly why I like the show. As time goes on, characters that Earl has helped (like Kenny) will be asked to assist Earl with another item on his list. It's kind of like the comedy version of The Equalizer. Overall, I would say this was a good episode. There was a LOT of subtle humor that would require a second viewing to get IMO (e.g. Catalina's story about the hats, the Darnell toe incident and subsequent reactions).

Anyone who thought this episode was "meh" should consider that even a "meh" episode of this show is a zillion times better than most network sitcoms! Go Earl!

I liked Earl using "code" to list this item on his list.

Earl not knowing how to close/open a file cabinet.

Ribisi explaining how his guy wants the copier to counterfeit money, and how same guy is going to pay them in 20's.

Randy with the mechanical pencil.

Randy reading the back of the flyer with the student council info instead of the hot dog coupon.

I really do enjoy the hour of Earl/Office. I don't watch a lot of TV and to actually have 2 shows on back to back that I like is nice.

I recognized the homage to Hollywood Shuffle right away. If I'm not mistaken, I think the guy that ran the stand in last night's episode was also one of the guys that ran the Winky Dinky Dog stand in HS (along with Keenan Ivory Wayans). That's quite a reference.

Pretty funny I thought. Maybe not as good as some of the other episodes but good nonetheless.

What is the Rubberband Man thing all about? When I saw Crabman walking the mail cart around I got a strange sense of deja vu, but I don't know why.

I didn't catch that the first time. Nice.

I was cracking up at Randy's line regarding the television making the "z"s.

I thought this episode was hilarious. I think Darnell is really becoming my favorite character on the show. Loved all his stuff. Joy's fake reaction when he screamed at the end was great. Randy had some great stuff again too. And Joy was great as well. I'm so glad they turned her into more than "Earl's angry white trash wife". She's been really funny lately.

I think Giovanni Ribisi does a great job playing Ralph, but the character is getting on my nerves. Hope we don't see him again for a while.

Good stuff overall.

It wasn't my favorite, but the episode-long shout-out to Hollywood Shuffle was brilliant. Kept waiting for Wayans and Robert Townsend to make an appearance.

That, coupled with the smoking hot-ness of Catalina, made this a good one in my book, even without the hilarity I've come to expect.

Can't stand Ribisi either. Should have called it a career after Saving Private Ryan.

Exactly. I don't think i've had a "least funny episode yet" and the way it's been going, i'm not counting on seeing one.

I thought the scene where Earl put the "family picture" on his new desk was actually pretty touching.
