My Name Is Earl -- "Stole P'S HD Cart" -- 01.19.2006

"Stole P'S HD Cart"

Earl (Jason Lee) does right when he returns a Pops' Old Fashioned Weiner hot dog cart, which he and Ralph (guest star Giovanni Ribisi) had stolen years prior. His good deed is undone, however, when Ralph, working for the competition, sets fire to the cart just as business is picking up again. Earl demands that the competing franchise owner pay the ten thousand dollars to replace the cart, but he refuses, sending Earl and Randy (Ethan Suplee) over his head to the corporate headquarters. Earl tricks his way into a job at the company and proceeds to steal office supplies in an effort to make up the ten thousand dollars. When he realizes that it would take the rest of his life to steal enough supplies, he recruits Randy, Joy (Jaime Pressly), Catalina (Nadine Velazquez), Darnell (Eddie Steeples), and Ralph to get jobs at the company as well to help him.

Spoiler:
Return of Ribisi, I liked him as Ralph.
Sounds like another great episode.

Spoiler:
If they don't have Darnell strutting around the office building to "The Rubberband Man" song in this episode, I'll be very disappointed.

there's definitely a clip in the preview that shows him doing exactly that. should be funny.

I'll ask again:

Do I need to make the effort to catch this show on HD? Outside the "chicks are hot" reasons... - Snowmaker's Post about it

I love this show. And having recurring guest stars is something I was hoping we'd get more of as this show progresses. :)

This is like asking, "Do I need to make the effort of having a partner during sex?".

Tommy Ceez 01-19-06 01:37 PM

Can someone explain to me what effort exactly is required to watch something in HD?

I assume HD is available in your house or you would not ask

Big Boy Laroux 01-19-06 02:00 PM

you have to change the channel to an HD station. if you've had severe thumb trauma, it's pretty difficult.

Wow, I was suprised to see my name there.

I was merely relaying what others have seen in past episodes and don't actually have HD myself.

cdollaz 01-19-06 02:15 PM

Hopefully there will be a lot of Ribisi's character and much less Randy in this episode.

My Name Is Earl - 1/19

Good episode.. Catalina looked hot but I HATE Giovanni Rabsi. I think he is my least favorite actor ever

Phil L. 01-19-06 08:47 PM

Ok, I'm gonna give 'em a pass on this one, because there certainly have been some excellent episodes of this show. And yes, I did get a couple of laughs from tonight's show. But...this episode was jaw droppingly stupid.

If not for Joy in her short skirt and white stockings, I would have turned it off prior to them all getting trapped in the copy room scene.

Were they trying to bring back the Laverne & Shirley days of comedy?

greg9x 01-19-06 09:05 PM

Joy reaching all up under her skirt  ... Jaimie got the white trash thing down !!

I laughed quite a bit.... "Stink lips"

redrum 01-19-06 09:16 PM

"look kenny i'm sleeping and the tv screen is making z's like i'm sleeping"

Trelach24 01-19-06 09:16 PM

Any ep with Catalina looking like that is a classic in my book.

Patman 01-19-06 09:17 PM

The flashback to one of "Hickey's Five"'s scores was kinda interesting. But the episode was perhaps too goofy for its own good.

BEst line of the night

At the end, celebrating at POPS, they all bump thier hotdogs together
Giovani: All right! Just like prison!

Bludvls33 01-19-06 10:05 PM

Not one of their better eps, but still good stuff.
Catalina....need I say more?
Cigarette as a bday candle.
Hickey Gang making the heist.
Joy reaching up the skirt.
Crabman's reaction to the pinky toe.
Did I metion Catalina going to work and running from security?? :)

Charlie Goose 01-19-06 10:13 PM

Funniest bit that I saw was when Earl & Randy first returned Pop's cart. Pop hugs Earl enthusiastically, and Randy says quietly, "You know, I'm here too."

Fell asleep! :grunt: Last thing I remember is when they started to steal the copy machine.

MrX 01-19-06 10:17 PM

Darnell pushing the office supply cart and Randy's line about Robin Hood's girlfrien Tinkerbell were the highlights of the episode.

B.A. 01-19-06 10:17 PM

They really don't need to bring Ribisi back ever again. Two appearances was more than enough. It just takes away screen-time from the Velasquez.

Not because I read the other thread where it was first asked by Joe or anything, but I would logically assume that his Tivo/DVR is not HD capable, so his only choice for watching it in HD would be to watch it live, which may present some type of problem of conflict. But that's just some wild guess.

To answer, no. The few and far in between sight gags aren't that important.

Pharoh 01-19-06 10:46 PM

As for this episode, we laughed quite a bit, even if just at the sights. Crabman doing the mail cart and Randy waking up in the room after everybody else had left, for examples.
