For those who got frustrated that Jack, et al didn't pepper 'Zeke' with questions - I think from Zeke's tone it was clear that he wasn't interested in easing their minds by helping them understand anything other than the pecking order. When he was talking to them, I was thinking to myself, "I hope these guys are realizing that they are dealing with a problem that only gets solved by killing these 'others' - as soon as it is possible to do so" so I was pretty enthused by that last line by Jack.

Sayid was in the republican guard, even if his speciality was interragation, I am sure he took basic military training course.

anybody else get the impression that Locke "got something" from the conversation with Zeke. It just seemed that either he realized something or has an understanding of whats going on. At least thats what i got from the faces he was making during the conversation.

Yea the record is important. I don't remember the name, the "others" are probably the band or something.

With the Michael thing, i remember Zeke saying something like, We won't let him find us. Also, with the whole army thing, i think the group is gonna find resistince from Locke, Kate, and most likely MR. Ecko. He is a priest these days.

Episode kicked ass. Stupid fucking Kate not listening and and getting her ass caught, I would have said fuck it, she got herself caught (maybe, she is playing along hmmmmm....) she can get herself out of it.

I see this turning into a possible Alias, the "who is a spy who isn't a spy" type story/plot, at this point anybody could be another spy for the others. It might be a long shot, but anything is possible with this show. I mean fuck, maybe Jack is a spy with the others, who knows at this point.

Training an army, damn Jack means biz-ness!

Actually, I really don't care about Jack and Zeke playing 20 questions. HOWEVER, it woulda been nice if Jack said "Dude, you could have this fucking island. We don't even wanna be here."

They still haven't even mapped out the perimeter of the island, they new nothing about how many others there are, and they are gonna get whupped bad.

Basically, Jack said he heard she was a cop... "used to be" she corrected. Then he asked her how long it would take to train an army. Then the show ended.

It wouldn't have mattered if Kate hadn't been caught. What would they have done if it had just been the three of them? They were surrounded, outnumbered, and presumably outgunned. Even without Kate, their choices would have been: a) Give up their guns b) Die

True, but the deciding factor here is with 2 guys (jack and Sawyer) that have feelings for somebody (Kate) that is about to be killed, you are more likely to do anything to let her live, vs if she wasn't in this equasion they would be more likey to do something about it than just give up.

I mean Jack basically said fuck you to Zeke, then when Zeke brought in Kate, him and Sawyer's attitude changed real quick.

Just like if they had somebody I cared about I would be more likely to follow there orders vs if they didn't have that leverage. Its basics of kidnappings/hostage taking and negotiating.

Actually, that wasn't Libby he was talking to. It seemed pretty straightforward in the preview that

It wasn't the deciding factor. They had no other options no matter what.

Unless they wanted to die, it was going to change anyways.

Kate being captured by them is just a MacGuffin to advance the love triange. In terms of their encounter with the Others, she made no difference. Whether the Others had her as a hostage or not, Jack, Sawyer, and Locke were giving up their guns eventually.

Rewatching the preview, it does look like Libby, although she's barely recognizable, what with being clean and all.

Jack: "Zeke, why haven't I gotten my period yet?"

Only one person latched onto the Alex thing? That and the army were all my friends and I were talking about. Is it Danielle's Alex? Are other "others" members of her team? Will this persuade her to help with the "army"? Where the hell is all the rampant speculation I lurk these boards to vicariously geek out to?

Anyway...I'm always bored by Jack doctor flashbacks. After the brilliant episode last week, this one came crashing down.
