this two hour block was probably the funniest, most freqeuent laugh-out-loud show i've watched in a while. i have loved this show ever since I picked up on it halfway through the first season.
in all honesty, with it's absence of the last few months, i had kind of forgotten about it. the office has quietly taken its place. but these four episodes were waaay funnier than anything i've ever watched and i am truly going to miss this show. if it moves to showtime, i'll be happy to shell out a few more bucks a month to watch.
save our bluths!

geez, this was like a huge thank you to everyone who's watched since the beginning. so many callbacks and references (which is one of the complaints people have about the show). but i loved it.

Absolutely fucking brilliant... I was in tears (from laughing) for most of the entire runtime of these 4 eps... A great ending to the series, but they certainly did set up enough for it to come back if Hurwitz decides to go for it (please mitch, please!). I have to watch these eps again, right now.... so damn good...AD will be missed (but hopefully not for too long, right Mitch?!)

Unfortunately the finale didn't fare any better in the ratings then previous episodes.
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Fast National ratings for Friday, Feb. 10, 2006
The start of the Winter Olympics on Friday didn't measure up to past opening ceremonies, but it still delivered a sizable ratings victory for NBC.
The Peacock averaged a 13.1 rating/21 share for the night, easily beating second-place ABC's 6.9/11. CBS came in third with a 5.8/9. UPN, 2.9/5, finished fourth, followed by FOX, 2.0/3, and The WB, 1.3/2.
NBC also led among adults 18-49 with a 6.6 rating. ABC was second in the demographic with a 3.0, beating out CBS' 2.6. FOX averaged 1.8, UPN 1.6 and The WB 0.8.
The opening ceremonies from Turin, Italy, posted an 11.2/18 for NBC at 8 p.m. ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" held up well, finishing second at 9.7/16. CBS was third with a repeat of "Ghost Whisperer." The first hour of "Friday Night Smackdown!" on UPN drew a 2.7/4, good enough to beat the first hour of "Arrested Development's" season finale, 2.0/3, on FOX. The WB went with the movie "Swimfan."
At 9 p.m., the Olympics improved to 14.4/23 -- a far cry from the huge 42 share the 2002 Salt Lake City opening delivered but still dominant for the hour. CBS moved up to second with "Close to Home," 5.9/9, which edged out ABC's "In Justice," 5.7/9. "Smackdown!" kept UPN in fourth with a 3.2/5. "Arrested Development" improved slightly in its second hour. The WB's movie trailed.
NBC's Olympic coverage drew a 13.6/22 at 10 p.m., beating the combined total for CBS' "Numb3rs," 6.6/11, and ABC's "20/20," 5.3/9.

Oh well, the Hell with them. More people are probably going to watch those two stupid, stupid shows that had commericals during AD.

lot of weird incest stuff going on which seemed to go a little overboard; George Michael kind of lost it overall. There were plenty of laughs though.
It was kind of surreal to watch 4 new back-to-back...episodes.

Was anyone else thinking the third participant in Gob's holy trinity would turn out to be Franklin?
I like how Annyong's name turned out to be "Hello."
"I'm No Scar. Dot com."
Who was that nurse?

In the scene where Justine is coming on to Jason it looked like they used body doubles the way they shot it and kept cutting back and forth. Maybe they felt uncomfortable?

I cannot believe anyone expected the show to IMPROVE in ratings, scheduled in a bizarre 2-hour block airing months after a new episode on a Friday night WHEN THE OLYMPICS ARE STARTING.
Fuck Fox.
Fuck Fox.

I hate to see it go, but this show couldn't go out better than that. Trust me, I'm still haunted by (Newsradio ending spoiler: )
If there is eventually interest in a movie or TV movie, they have ground to explore. If not, hopefully all involved will move on to projects that will be quite good *and* popular with the people.

In the Exit Strategy, they went way back with "eating ice cream sandwiches in prison." That was awesome.

Just a quick story...my wife and I have been joking that she was going to go into labor and miss the finale of "Arrested Development" for a couple weeks now...and guess what happened. She started having contractions Friday morning so we went to the hospital. They gave her the epidural for the pain about 5 and she mellowed out and we just watched TV until it was "go time." 7 p.m. rolls around and she says "Turn on Arrested Development." So we watched the first 3 episodes. Then she said "I think it's time" about 8:40 (for the record, the babies are ok, and were born at 9:30 and 9:41). Also, we had twin girls, and we've been joking about naming them "Maebe" and "Surely" for a while as well (we didn't). Have I mentioned my wife is awesome?
Anyway, everybody is fine, but she didn't get to watch the finale. So being the good husband I am, the next day I went home to get some of her stuff and surprised her by bringing back the Tivo. What's better, flowers or the final 4 episodes of "Arrested Development?"

I think it's safe to say that was the end, even if Showtime is interested. I don't think it's really hit me yet. It was quite surreal. It wasn't like the Seinfeld finale where I knew it was the end because I have still kept hope up. This just had a weird feeling. When the "Epilogue" came on, I knew that was it. I didn't have time to comprehend what I saw.
