New Justice League??

Does anyone know when the new shows are supposed to start??

Mattrk 01-02-06 08:08 PM

The best guess I've seen is January 21st. Only three more weeks to go!

RocShemp 01-02-06 11:15 PM

Can't wait. I've missed this show like crazy.

buzzdalf 01-03-06 10:47 AM

me too!!

Deadpool 01-03-06 11:13 AM

Yep, I'm missing this one as well :(

From Comics Continuum.com

Fans hoping to see new episodes of Cartoon Network's Justice League Unlimited in the new year are going to have to wait a while longer.

According to a representative of the network, plans are for the show to return in late spring/summer. No definitive dates have been scheduled.

According to Continuum sources, the show's future also remains undecided.

The last episodes of Justice League Unlimited to air were consecutive weekends of back-to-back episodes last fall. "I Am Legion" and "Shadow of the Hawk" aired on Sept. 17 and "Chaos at Earth's Core" and "To Another Shore" aired on Sept. 24.

Meatpants 01-04-06 09:43 AM

I have been missing new eps of The Batman too.

Red Dog 01-04-06 09:55 AM

I wish they would re-air the last set of 4 episodes. I missed "I am Legion."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's not right!!

fumanstan 01-04-06 12:46 PM

I always thought the show was rather popular. Any one know the reason why it's in limbo?

nny 01-04-06 01:09 PM

From all the reruns they showed, I figured Teen Titans was popular too and they cancelled that. I also saw at comicscontinuum.com that there's an upcoming episode of JLU with the Legion of Superheroes, but it has nothing to do with the Legion show they're developing.

Deftones 01-04-06 01:30 PM

Yeah, I thought this was the most popular show on CN. Maybe it's costing to much to make.

kenage 01-04-06 06:59 PM

When did they cancel Teen Titans?

candyrocket786 01-17-06 06:26 PM

Little FYI

The Flash and Substance episode already aired in the UK and is "available" at the "ususal spots" ;)

amped 01-17-06 06:44 PM

uggh, you know I was wondering if they would be doing the same thing like last year with
Canada getting first dibs.

Thanks for the heads up!

Yes Ma'am.

dvd-4-life 01-17-06 09:22 PM

I would rather see WonderWoman,The Flash and Green Lantern get there own shows rather than continue sharing the spotlight on Justice League Unlimited.I would like to see Green Arrow also get his own show.

I think The Flash could have his own animated series... especially if they keep "Michael Rosenbaum" and it takes place prior to the JL/JLU series.

Jackskeleton 01-17-06 09:50 PM

Dini's "Supergirl and Legion" cartoon should be something that pushes the future of Dini/Timm style DC cartoons. Though from the last interview of his don't expect to see it till later in the year.

Mattrk 01-17-06 09:53 PM

I ran into someone at the Apple Store in Lenox Mall, Atlanta - we struck up a conversation and he said he worked for Cartoon Network. I asked about the cancellation of Teen Titans and the delay in Justice League Unlimited, and he hadn't known about either.

While I'm not the biggest fan of Teen Titans, I thought it was very well done, and JLU is one of the best toons ever to be broadcast. If both of these are true, this is very disappointing.

IMO, you aren't missing much then. ;)

A new interview with 2 of the 3 JLU executive producers. There's not too much info. CN is still refusing to say whether TT or JLU have been cancelled. The most interesting part was the end:

"On one final note, the Warners did tell me there is going to be a lot of announcements, in fact three sets of them, coming from them in the very near future. The first will be delivered during WonderCon this February 24-25. The second will be during the upfront sessions that will be held by Kids WB and CN on March 1. The last set will be around the middle of the March. "

LorenzoL 01-18-06 09:11 PM

I'm pissed that here in Canada, they haven't even aired the four new episodes for this season.

Jackskeleton 01-18-06 10:43 PM

Now that the Boston Brand episode aired in the UK it's really getting annoying here in the states we have to wait till summer or fall for new episodes. Gee, thanks a lot cartoon network. How about you show a lot less live action films and a lot more cartoons.

In anycase, I really like the society story that is going on in the background. What with having Grodd be the leader and his conflict/power struggle with Lex build up little by little and eventually having those lesser known heros in the cartoon like Deadman, I'm really going to miss this if it is to end.

LorenzoL 01-20-06 02:54 PM

AICN has this episode summary for "Flash and Substance" episode aired in the UK.

Spoiler:
What could be more humiliating than the godless Canadians getting “Justice League Unlimited” sooner than Americans? The scurvy British getting “Justice League Unlimited” sooner than Americans!! Our long national nightmare has begun, and “Solo4357” brings us our first review of “Flash and Substance”:

A new Justice League is finally back with it's most respectful look at DC history yet, told in a totally silly way.

What's it called?
"Flash and Substance."

What number is it?
Well, if you think JLU is starts as season 3 of Justice League, then this is 5.5. Otherwise it's 3.5. Either way, it's been WAAAY too long since we've seen a new JLU. How long? Try Sept 24.

What's it about?
The Flash must handle an onslaught of super-villains during the opening of a museum in his honor.
This sounds familiar....
It should. During the silver age, Central City did the same thing for Barry Allen.

Barry Allen?! Is he in this?
ALMOST. There is a psuedo cameo, if you look for it. And want it to be bad enough. He's never really identified as such.. but I think we all know.

So who's on hand for the opening?
Well for the heroes, the two most unlikely: Batman and Orion. Orion feels like the writers pulled his name out of a hat. "Um, we need a third..." The villians make up the four worst (or best) from Flash's rogues gallery: Captain Boomerang (fresh from his escape from Task Force X) Captain Cold, Mirror Master and the Trickster.

The villians are there to put aside differences and congradulate the Flash for being a worth opponent, right?
Yeah right. It starts as the usual "Let's see who can take him down" contest but, in a welcome moment, they trash that plan. "Ah, the heck with this one-at-a-time stuff. Let's just all get him at once."

Any surprises?
Yes. Mark Hamill reprises his role as the Trickster.

Reprises?
Remember the live-action Flash from 1990? His crazieness in that role probably got him noticed for the Joker audition two years later for Batman:TAS. We've come full circle. The bad part is that the Trickster is wasted in this episode.

What's good?
The Flash's relationship with Central City. Batman's secret respect. The stuff in the museum (including his and Superman's Race around the world). Captain Boomerang's cheapness. The Trickster, when given a chance. "You're wearing the outfit again." "Am I?" The method to taking down Mirror Master. "It's not black tie, is it?" Batman, as usual.

What's not so good?
Orion just doesn't belong in this episode. It's weird. There's no movement on the League of Villians Co-op storyline. Flash's complete obliviousness to the hot reporter (whom I beleive he's married to in the comics) who's coming on to him. Given the girl-crazy history of the character in the show up til now, it didn't make sense. Batman should be able to do better against Captain Cold, given his history with Mr. Freeze. Mark Hamill was wasted as Trickster. Good casting, not enough to do.

Rating: *** 1/2 out of Five.

ktan1 01-20-06 04:21 PM

Is Dead Reckoning also a new episode? What are the other 2? Someone mentioned 4 episodes have been aired already (outside of USA, of course).

amped 01-20-06 04:43 PM

I think there is an extensive list out there, but here's what tv.com has and yes, Dead Reckoning is new:

the UK shows two episodes a week. One on monday and one on wednesday. So they currently have aired Dead Reckoning and Flash and Substance.

Both episodes are wickedly awsome. I especially like Deadman and Batman's typical exchange.

candyrocket786 01-24-06 07:08 AM

Patriot Act has already aired (in the UK).

Jackskeleton 01-24-06 01:17 PM

yeah and Stargirl shows off why she's a cool ass character.

fumanstan 01-24-06 09:46 PM

I thought Patriot Act was kind of lame myself. Although I really liked Flash and Substance.

Flay 01-24-06 10:41 PM

Didn't care much for Flash & Substance, but Dead Reckoning was terrific.

Chew 01-25-06 06:09 AM

Patriot Act was just OK. I enjoyed the other two a lot though.

runner001 01-25-06 10:25 AM

i'm still waiting patiently for it to air on the network. i much prefer to experience it on a large screen with decent sound vs on a computer screen and desktop speakers.

ChrisKnudsen 01-25-06 11:55 PM

I liked Patriot Act and Flash and Substance a lot. Still no The Best Story Never Told, though. Dead Reckoning was alright.

nny 01-26-06 01:30 AM

Comicscontinuum.com reported today:

"Originally targeted for late spring/early summer, new episodes of Justice League Unlimited will now air beginning in February on Cartoon Network.

The first new episode will air Saturday, Feb. 11 at 10:30 p.m. Nine new episodes, Nos. 31-39 of JLU, are expected. "

LivingINClip 01-26-06 02:37 AM

Dead Reckonin' was pretty good.

I am Legion was excellent

Flash and Substance was good.

Haven't got around to watchin' the others. Damn Cartoon Network and their stupid schedule.
