I do wonder how the story arc will play based.

Will bring the discussion to the last ep thread.

I was watching S2 of the West Wing when I heard. The character of Leo is my favorite on the show and Spencer played the part incredibly well. This is a blow to the acting world.

Really sucks that this happened. Although I never watched West Wing, I can remember him from various films, he was always one of "those guys" that you can't remember the name of when you see him in a movie.
RIP

Just like his character, he in real life had a problem with drinking.

I also remembered him fondly from L.A. Law (never watched The West Wing), and his passing is a big surprise, and you have to wonder how the producers of The West Wing are having to scramble for his character's exit from the show after so many years.

RIP, Mr. Spencer.

He had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. He'll be missed.

That is shocking news. I liked his work when he was on LA Law.

Very true. I'm 61 and he looks a good deal older. I would have guessed late 60's.

Just heard about it. Fine actor - really liked him in Presumed Innocent, L.A. Law and of course The West Wing.

I wonder if they've already filmed the election results.

If you're looking for a continuity fix, wasn't he present in the first episode of this season in the prologue where the allumni are meeting for the Bartlett library dedication?

Oops, I suppose this is starting to get off topic.

No, I don't think he was. I think they deliberately left him out of the group because they wanted to keep it ambiguous as to who won the election. Having Leo standing with the group would have made it look like Santos lost.

I remember when he joined L.A. LAW, that's when the show went downhill.
