nobody has mentioned my favourite line of the night... after Kevin chops off the top of the christmas tree.

Kevin: But what are we gonna do with this hacked off part?

Michael: Well, that is a perfectly good mini tree Kevin. And we are going to SELL that to charity. That's what Christmas is all about.

Kevin standing there with the top of the Christmas tree like he was holding a severed head.

... not to mention that he hacked it off with a paper cutter.

Nesbit 12-07-05 03:44 PM

Kelly works in HR right?

ChrisKnudsen 12-07-05 04:39 PM

Man, I end up bittorrent this but god damn, the episode took about almost an hour to watch for I am a person that pauses something if it gets too awkward. Really did feel more like the British version last night. Damn funny episode, though.

Red Dog 12-07-05 06:04 PM

This was one hilarious episode. The ending was one of the funniest I've seen in any comedy. rotfl

Deftones 12-07-05 06:07 PM

Great episode. I'm sad that Arrested Development might be gone, but this show has nicely slid in to replace it.

I laughed harder than I ever have before when he whipped out his camera.

Anyone notice Kevin used a paper cutter to remove the top of the tree? lol

I did (post #77).

That guy is a serial killer... I just know it.

cineman 12-07-05 10:01 PM

This show is just so damn funny. But, holy hell I seem to have missed the ending to this ep. Hurry up rerun.

Reminds me of when I was in 9th grade and worked on a history project with the girl I had a crush on through HS. I saved her handwritten notes, and just found them again recently when I was cleaning out my closet.

When I was a teenager I was hot for a girl that I used to hang out with. Somehow, I ended up with her comb, and didn't give it back. I've had it for about 25 years. Creepy? Maybe, but I've also had the girl for about 22 years now. -biggrin- I've even lost it a number of times over the years, to my distress. Once a waitress came running out a restaurant to ask if was mine, since it had fallen out of my pocket while I was eating there. I'm glad I tip well! It now stays at home.

I'd point out the "I've also had the girl for about 22 years now" as a funny typo but I'm not so sure it's a typo or funny after having read the waitress story....

Rewatched the episode and I don't think there is anyway to tell if the letter was opened or not but I guess if Jim didn't bring it up in an interview chances are it was still sealed.

pinata242 12-08-05 08:28 AM

I got the impression that during the "Yankee Swap" (which we call Dirty Santa), he started getting nervous about the gift in other people's hands. I don't think it was so much it was intended for Pam, but he was worried about the letter. That gave him a lot to worry about and in all that decided maybe he said too much and chickened out.

Just my way of saying we've been together for 22 years now. It wasn't meant to sound like she was a possession, or that I'm keeping her in the basement, like mother Bates.

Not so creepy to keep. But you carry it around with you and take the comb out to dinner?!

In my mind I am picturing dinner for two, with the comb sitting in a booster seat across from him.

Yes, creepy, very creepy.

Most of the highlights have already been mentioned, so I'll just say I loved it. Absolutely loved it.

It's creepy to carry a comb with you? What if your hair gets messed up while you're out?

Rypro 525 12-08-05 06:21 PM

those assholes at wbal. I was going to watch my dvr recording of the episode, but they ran a "kids helping teens' special (or something like that) unadvertised. They also put at the bottom of the screen, that it would air that night at 2:05 am that morning, so i obviously missed it (Earl taped fine)

Jimmy James 12-08-05 06:55 PM

That sucks, man. If you haven't seen the thread here, I'll note that you can buy episodes of The Office in the iTunes Music Store now. I think they're $2 each.

No. I was just kidding you because it seemed like, if you kept it for sentimental reasons, it would be in a box in the back of your closet or something with other similar items. I just thought because it was that particular comb it was funny (impling that you carry it around all day long for sentimental reasons -wink-)

ggz5000 12-08-05 07:03 PM

I think Stanley is very underrated as a character. One of my favorite lines was when Ryan picked the gift after his ipod got swapped with the Kelly name plate.

Stanley: "That was meant for Kelly"
Ryan: "Yea, I figured"
