Awesome episode last night. Kevin doesn't do much, but the guy is hilarious.

Good catch.

He put the card in the box, not the teapot, BTW. So I assume she had just pulled the teapot out when Jim walked over and not noticed the card yet.

Was this at the beginning? I missed the first couple of minutes because of OT then a shootout in the hockey game I was watching.

Angela cracks me up:

Angela: Did you get the lights?
Phylis: I got the little ones.
Angela gives evil look
Phylis: Is that okay?
Angela: Well, we'll see.
Then, when they light the tree Angela gives Phylis the evil eye!

Angela crushing the christmas ornaments!

Nesbit 12-07-05 10:07 AM

I'm betting we will find out later in the season that she read the card.

valkyrie 12-07-05 10:12 AM

Did they show a "next time on the Office" clip? My HTPC only recorded the last 17 minutes of this Ep! (power outage). I was going to DL it off iTunes, but it's not listed yet, and NBC's episode guide lists the "Christmas Party" with a 12-20 airdate. Is it being re-played in 2 weeks?

Nesbit 12-07-05 10:15 AM

I didn't see a clip from next week's episode. I think the commercial that announced they are moving to Thursdays took the place of the normal teaser.

Yes. He put all the little things in the teapot, replaced the top, (I think), then put the card inside the box. It was at the beginning.

Was I the only one who thought the announcer saying "the 2 most original shows on tv" and referring to The Office slightly ironic? I mean, The Office (while it has been getting better and better) certainly isn't original.

Good news:

NBC moved into the lead at 9 p.m. with "My Name Is Earl," 8.5/12, and "The Office," 6.3/9. A "Commander in Chief" rerun posted a 7.0/10 for ABC, a little better than "The Amazing Race," 6.7/10, on CBS (although CBS had more viewers for the hour). The second hour of the Billboard Awards improved slightly for FOX. The "Top Model" special "Back to the Runway" scored a 2.2/3 for UPN to finish ahead of a "Supernatural" rerun on The WB.

That's a pretty good number for the Office, although admittedly Commander In Chief was a repeat and House wasn't on. I really like that they are promoting this Thusday night move in a decent manner. I wonder if they heard the anti-Fox sentiment in the Arrested Development thread? ;)

If there was an episode next week, they wouldn't have blown their Christmas wad early. I don't think The Office is new again until Thursday the 5th

Typically, when you see a Christmas episode, that's the last new one till after Christmas. Again, why blow the wad early?

No episode next week... Fear Factor is a 90 minute episode and Earl takes up the 9:30E/8:30C slot.

Nesbit 12-07-05 12:26 PM

Man that's two hours of fat people!

Tivo To Do List shows no episodes scheduled, so I guess we'll have a bit of a wait...

I'm pretty sure the card was still sealed when Jim put it in his back pocket. Therefore unread by Pam.

Hubcap 12-07-05 12:51 PM

Kevin:
"I want the foot bath"
"Thats the thing I bought myself"
"Im really psyched to use it"
"Maybe I should have taken the Ipod"
"OH SHOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTT"

Just great. Also enjoyed when everyone covered the one guy that passed out in the chair.

Could be. I'll post an update on the card situation after I rewatch it tonight.

I just watched the eppy again and the card that professes Jim's feelings toward Pam looks to be still sealed in the envelope. But it's too difficult to tell for sure, I'd say it's inconclusive if anything.

Reminds me of when I was in 9th grade and worked on a history project with the girl I had a crush on through HS. I saved her handwritten notes, and just found them again recently when I was cleaning out my closet.

God, I hope not. I don't even read that thread any more because it makes my head hurt.
