LOST -- "Collision" -- 11.23.2005

Spoiler:
Tempers flare when Ana Lucia and her group stumble upon Sayid and the other castaways.

Goldberg74 11-23-05 11:59 AM

I hope he kicks her in the nuts.

Red Dog 11-23-05 12:01 PM

I'm really surprised they are showing a new episode tonight.

Me too, pleasantly surprised. But I'm sure we have a nice 6 week or so break coming up soon to make up for it.

Kal-El 11-23-05 12:02 PM

Kill Ana Lucia already and get back to the GOOD side of the fucking island.

Next Week NEW
Then a week break
Then a NEW episode
Then a THREE WEEK break
Then NEW episodes for awhile.

Josh H 11-23-05 01:18 PM

I stand corrected. When was it last year that they had a six or so week hiatus?

I was thinking it was from thanksgiving through new years. But maybe it was before may sweeps.

3 weeks I can deal with, more than that is a bit much with these serial shows. I'd prefer them all be like Alias, 24 etc. and just run them straight through. All the sweeps months, etc. are just stupid.

I hate when they do this - far more than a single long break.

dhmac 11-23-05 03:29 PM

I think most shows are guaranteed to have new episodes each week throughout November due to Sweeps, with the exception of only Thursday shows possibly taking a week off on Thanksgiving Day.

Once December hits is when reruns show up again.

Survivor is new on Thanksgiving Day. All bets are off during sweeps.

MrX 11-23-05 04:13 PM

So are CSI and Without A Trace. The NBC shows are new as well, with the exception of ER which isn't airing.

Bronkster 11-23-05 05:07 PM

So, along with hoping that Sayid kicks AnaLucia in the nuts, I'm also curious to see how the renunion of Rose and Bernard goes - Will there be some "Lost-type" twist and they aren't the Rose and Bernard we think we they are????

rw2516 11-23-05 05:12 PM

Personally I'd like to see Sayid rip Ana's heart out and shove it down her throat. Alas, I think she will become a regular and even have a "attraction" storyline with one or more male survivors.

That'd be never. They never had more than a three week break last year (by that I mean three weeks of repeats between new episodes).

Amator 11-23-05 07:51 PM

Looking forward to seeing how all the tailies fit in with the fusies. Hopefully Ana Lucia gets a righteous smack-down, but I doubt it. Digging the addition of Eko, though.

Wonder if Sayid will tell Michael how he and Shannon came to be that deep in the jungle?

Nick Martin 11-23-05 08:07 PM

Are they trying to RUIN this show with that bitch?

I'm seriously considering dropping it, I hate her that much.

ATX 11-23-05 08:28 PM

Where's Shannon's body?

EEz28 11-23-05 08:33 PM

Damn, this is pretty boring right now

IDrinkMolson 11-23-05 08:36 PM

When Eko had Sawyer on his back, I started yelling at the TV, "Break her f-ing neck!!" The wife was looking at me going, are you OK?

ATX 11-23-05 08:36 PM

Ana Lucia is a garbage character...

this gangsta, trigga happiness is wearing real thin real fast...get her off of there

This was a pretty good episode in spite of her. Which says a lot for the rest of the characters considering the story revolved around her. The ending was nice with all the reunions. But the sooner Ana Lucia is killed off, the better.

I did like how she called one of the LAPD officers "Riggs". :)

sauce07 11-23-05 09:02 PM

I've never really had a problem with the ana lucia character, i understand that you are supposed to hate her. you need a character like that to mix up the chemistry, add a little friction.

You got to see a little more of her human side tonight, and i ended up hating her just a little less.

looks like she'll be sticking around to be a love interest

Ranger 11-23-05 09:06 PM

A lot of hate for Ana-lucia here.

aktick 11-23-05 09:07 PM

Even though I echo (no pun intended :)) the thoughts on Ana-Lucia, I still liked this episode. Did a good job of bringing the groups together, and the reunion of the 2 couples was pretty good.

I couldn't have felt less sorry for Ana-Lucia once I found out she lost a baby when she was shot. Obviously they were trying to show why she's so pissy, but she had already dug herself such a hole that I wouldn't have felt sympathetic if she was the second coming. I really hope we're done with her being a main character, but I doubt it, as it seems they are in love with her for some reason.

Eko just keeps getting better each week. His casting almost makes up for the A-L character. I can't wait to see how he ends up fitting in with Locke and the rest of the group.

Can we try to get that handcuff off of poor Jin?

Maybe now Jack and A-L (the 2 poorest characters IMO...although Jack is leaps and bounds better than her) can get together to leave Sawyer and Kate together, which is inevitable.

Now maybe we can concentrate on the island, Dharma, security system, things like that. Hopefully they kind of tie up one more backstory next week.

aktick 11-23-05 09:10 PM

Some more mention of the numbers this episode - "8-Adam-16".

OldBoy 11-23-05 09:10 PM

what a great ep. the reunion of Bernard and Rose was everything it was supposed to be and then some. i even liked the Jin/Charlie reunion even though they took the two castaways that probably had the least contact with each other, but hey it still worked somehow. i am such a sucker for that kinda thing.

this show has a tendancy to run the spectrum of emotions, almost every episode, and i wouldn't want it any other way.

beatccr 11-23-05 09:13 PM

i liked the reunions at the end.

but did anyone else feel like they were watching SWAT at the beginning?

OldBoy 11-23-05 09:15 PM

i think it is incredible that they can sway from the original castaways and still keep it compelling, i mean hell...Jack and Kate weren't even on last weeks show at all! the writers of this show are simply brilliant and this is a brilliant show.
now, i think Ana and Jack might have a tryst which should make the whole Kate-Jack-Sawyer triangle very interesting.

ATX 11-23-05 09:20 PM

Did Jack and A-L only briefly meet prior to boarding the plane or was it more than that?

Jack had a disgusted look on his face and A-L looked gangsta as usual

A-aron 11-23-05 09:21 PM

what an awesome ending .. call me soft, but I actually shed a tear .. I think it says something for any show/movie, when you can feel for the characters, and are happy for them to be reunited. I think the flashbacks with Sun and Jin only made that feeling stronger.

Well done. A nice way to bring the 2 groups together.

You're not the only one. :)

My favorite moment in the episode was the first encounter between Eko and Locke. I can't wait to see what happens with those two.

A couple more that I noticed too:
4 months (AL's Dr. said that)
Question 42 of the crossword puzzle "Enkido's friend"
Spoiler:
Gilgamesh

I thought I heard/saw another but can't remember now.

Robertwoj 11-23-05 09:39 PM

A-L was shot 4 times

How is that a spoiler?

It's not a spoiler, but some people might want to solve it (or search for it). Maybe you prefer having all of your answers unspoilerized.

;)

Shannon Nutt 11-23-05 10:08 PM

This was the best episode since the first couple we got at the beginning of the season.

Maggie Grace needs to practice "playing dead". The first time we saw her in this episode, I could clearly see her eyelids moving!

Anyone got a screencap of that crossword puzzle Locke was doing? There's GOT to be a clue or two in there!

I bet I said that to my wife 10 times during this episode. I'm way over that bitch.

das Monkey 11-23-05 10:12 PM

Robertwoj

A-L was shot 4 times

"Ana Lucia" has 8 letters!

Real solid episode. Much better than last week. I was surprised that I actually "missed" Jack and Kate. It's only been a few weeks, but when they first appeared in the episode, I was struck with an "Oh yeah! I remember them." feeling.

It was a meeting of the two silent tough guys.

IDrinkMolson 11-23-05 10:19 PM

No screencap, but here are the questions (Locke's Answers):
Down:
37 Belgian Port (Ghent)
38. Robbed (Ransacked)
40. WWII movie feature: hyph. wd. *off screen*
42. Enkidu's friend (Gilgamesh)
43. Less Brazen *off screen*

I'm viewing in SD, so 40 & 43 might be on in HD. There are other answers visible.
