I can sort of see Isaac's point about when satire does become intolerance against religion period, and the SP boys have come pretty close to that this season, but don't pull out that card when your religion takes a hit.
And when are we going to see the "Bloody Mary" episode, during your controversial episode countdown, Comedy Central? Grow a pair, or have a couple sewn on if you need 'em.

Brent L 03-13-06 11:06 PM

I don't get his point at all. I don't see why you should hold back anything in comedy, if that's your style. People know what type of show SP is, and God knows this douche (biggest douche in the universe anyone?). I'm a Christian, and I've never taken offense to anything they've ever done. I just laugh at it, it's a TV show...

I guess we'll get a return of, of.................MR. DERP!

DERP!!!

;)

Trey Parker and Matt Stone revived Isaac Hayes career. This is the thanks they get from him? I say good riddance.

DVDHO 03-14-06 12:18 AM

Isaac Hayes can eat my big salty ball's,he hasnt been funny in 2 or 3 seasons any how,as long as Matt and Trey are in the mix I will continue to watch and enjoy the show.

FRwL 03-14-06 01:23 AM

What if he didn't want to leave and was "strongly persuaded" by his fellow cultists?

It'd be funny if they continued to use his voice by splicing stuff from all his past recordings and keep the character alive even just for bit stuff.

But he's ok with an over the top homophobic (but gay) teacher with a slave assistant, and a whole town full of people with fake dead babies on their heads?

Hooray! I loved Mr. Derp.

Didn't see the episode, haven't watched in a couple years, but I saw the news blurb. What a hypocrite.

I agree with Jimmy:

I agree, he's definitely earned a ticket for a season of ridicule. Turn Chef into a scientologist and lambast him every episode next season. Killing him would be too easy and not the SP way.

I think Chef should follow Mr. Garrison's lead, and get a sex change operation. After that, (s)he should be voiced by Aretha Franklin.

milo bloom 03-14-06 09:38 AM

I'll certainly miss Chef, his character seemed to be the most sane adult in the town most of the time. I am looking forward to Parker and Stone giving him whatfor on the show though.

 That's a pretty good idea.

So Tom, get over it, your're an idiot and your acting does suck. And Isaac, at least they got your career back for you for close to a decade.

Yeah, good point. You don't want them to be hypocrites. That would be like having a show produced by two conservatives that constantly bashes celebrities for advocating their political opinions while essentially advocating their own.

mike7162 03-14-06 03:50 PM

Zing!!!

Yeah, too bad your snide comment provides no validity since the creators of this show are both libertarians and take pop shots at both sides of the issue (most of the time, not all).

I know they are libertarians. It was my understanding that libertarians are conservatives. I can accept that I was wrong on that.

But it still doesn't change the fact that they continually rail on celebrities for using their position to further a political agenda when that is exactly what they do.

I am as conservative as they come and I would probably like if they pushed the conservative agenda, but I have never seen them push an agenda in interviews or on the show. I've never seen them on the Fox News Channel shows, like Hannity&Combs. I've never seen them on CNN pushing the conservative agenda. I have seen Alec Baldwin, George Clooney, Sean Penn and Tim Robbins on shows pushing their liberal ideas on people, which is why they all ended up in Team America.
They had a show making fun of Dubya(though i do know they would have done the same to Gore if he had won). In the 2004 election they came out and said don't vote if you don't know what the hell is going on, they basically called Bush a turdsandwich(or Giant Douche). Team America was a shot at Bush's shoot'em policy as much as it was the pussy liberals(their words) that were against military action. They made cracks at Bush and the Republican Party on the life support episode.
They were just one of the first Hollywood people(if you want to call them that) to make fun of liberals. They were just the first to actually take a stand and make fun of all those actors who see themselves as Liberal Activists(not counting the people on conservative radio). So of course strong liberals are going to yell foul.
Their number one target is Hollywood and the people of Hollywood. And it just happens that 91% of Hollywood is Liberals. And the liberals of Hollywood are much more vocal than the conservatives, so they make themselves easy targets.
So I disagree that they are hypocrites, they equally make fun of every race, creed, religon on political party.

Brain Stew 03-14-06 09:35 PM

Alright, fine. I'm wrong. Whatever.

Damfino 03-14-06 09:41 PM

OK, so Isaac Hayes is a Scientologist, but why did it take him 4 months to speak up?

Well if you took a high school government class, you would know that libertarians are only conservative on fiscal issues and liberal on social issues. And from some of the topics targeted on the show, the two are very liberal when it comes to social issues.

And Paradice is 100% on target. Matt and Trey throw shit at all sides. They continue to do it in South Park and they did it in That's My Bush! and Team America as well.

And John Kerry was the Giant Douche with George W. Bush being the Turd Sandwich.

My point was that a libertarian bias is still a political bias. Matt and Trey routinely say that entertainers shouldn't use their programs to further their own bias. That is exactly what they do.

EDIT: I was happy to let it go, but people keep picking at what I said.

The point is that they do not use their program to further their own bias. Liberals just happen to be frequent targets. Like i said in my last post, liberals in hollywood are much more vocal, so they subject themselves to ridicule. When Bush poked his nose in on the Terri Schindler Schiavo case, it took Matt and Trey no time to make fun of him for his stance, and republicans in general.
