Well, you seem to be the oracle of wisdom about good TV. I tip my hat to you sir.

Note that I didn't attempt to tell you what good TV is. My statement just accepts the reality that we have more TV than ever at this moment in time with more ways than ever to access it. You can't refute that because it is in fact a statement based upon objective facts.

My power went out right when AL shot Shannon. Could someone please fill me in on the last minute or so, including "On The Next Lost"?

Thanks!

Personally, I think it's a great episode. Mr. Ecko is a badass. Base on what Goodwin said about Others wanting the "good" people, Mr. Ecko is one of them. Just that he killed the 2 Others trying to take him.

Spoiler:
From the preview, it looks like Sayid is tied up and bitch Ana is trying to tell him to stop his whining of Shannon's death

Well duh. Thanks for this wonderful piece of knowledge.
Sure my initial comment was overbroad, but your attempts to justify your hypocritical statement are just funny as hell!

The episode was a little choppy for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I think it's funny that the Tailies call the Others, "them".

Was this episode suppose to make us like Ana more or even feel for her a little bit? I can not stand her even more now. So she appointed herself queen and will decide what the remaining 6 survivors do. Too bad Syaid did not just shoot her as soon as she shot Shannon.

I thought it was funny that Bernard asked Mr. Eko if any of the dead bodies he dragged onto the beach were "African-American."

It would have been funny if Mr. Ecko responded "my wife is African-American too"

For the life of me I can't remember who else said that about good and bad people. I have a feeling it was Ethan, but I'm not 100% certain.

There was mention that we should pay attention to Eko's big stick. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary about it, only that it looked like a sappling. Anyone have any other impressions about it.

Really liked the change of pace for tonight's episode. Very glad there were no personal backstories tonight. Would really like to see a Mr. Ecko backstory. I wonder if the others/them infiltrate every new survivor group that happens to end up on the island? Seems to take a substantial toll on the others/them. No more Ethan or Goodwin.

Ana Lucia was still annoying, but not as bad as previously shown.

Next week appears interesting.

Tried replaying the scene where Shannon is shot and could not tell if Ana Lucia was shooting at something between them or just shooting Shannon after hearing the voices.

I totally agree with you. The blood of "Dr. Mike from Ed" is on her hands.

Spoiler:
I'm alarmed by how she has Sayid tied up in the preview. That doesn't seem likely at all. Sayid is one of pretty much four badasses on the show (Jin, Sayid, Locke, and Mr. Eko). It rings way false that she is having her way with the people we know and is torturing somebody like Sayid.

I agree with the folks who have said it felt good to have a show without flashbacks. I think they're a great story device when there is something to be learned, but every episode does seem like a little much, particularly when some of the flashbacks feel forced and not that interesting. I'd personally like to see more episodes without flashbacks and perhaps some episodes that are *totally* flashbacks.

What looks really fucked is that the preview shows Ana shooting AGAIN. I thought girlfriend only had one bullet?

He was engraving something in the stick. Can't make it out though.

The whole purgatory theory got a lot more credible with this episode. Goodwin saying that the others are there to "take the good ones" and that the "children were in a better place now".

Pretty good episode.

Some interesting revelations. The others are only taking "good" people. And we definitely got confirmation that the whispers in the jungle are real and were heard by everyone. In last weeks thread some thought Shannon just heard them and Sayid was just confused. Definitely not the case.

I didn't mind the lack of flashbacks. They're starting to get a little old IMO, glad to see an episode focused on island events.

Yep, I had the same thought. Probably a red herring though.

It'll almost be like Survivor next week when
Spoiler:
the two "tribes" merge. Who will be voted off next? Or rather I hope the writers don't keep killing off major characters just because they can. I was just starting to like Shannon.

I missed Charlie, Sayid, Kate and the rest of the old gang. You can't force me to like all these new people, Lost producers!!! Seriously though, I don't mind introducing the rest of the passengers, and Mr. Eko seems pretty cool, but M-Rod's character is a loudmouthed twit. I hope Sayid finds a hole and dumps her in it.

I can't wait for them to kill off Charlie and I hope it's Locke that does it. Annoying little prick, just like in LOTR.
