I do agree that the couch gag was one of the best ever.

The couch gag this week was better than last week's whole Treehouse of Horror

That was the longest intro on the Simpsons and it would have been more fitting as part of last week Tree House of Horror episode.
Didn't particularly care about the Mama's boy with Marge and Bart but I have to admit that I couldn't stop laughing when Jimbo, Kearney and the other kid were doing "My Sharona" near the Simpsons window.

This was an above average episode - those that didn't like it are just burned out from Simpsons, and wouldn't be able to distinguish between a good or bad episode any longer.

I rewatched the couch opening a few times, I thought that was really funny. Overall, it was an okay episode for me and I did like Skinner's interpretation of Ebony and Ivory.

As I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion I will not say that those who think this was a bad episode were completely and entirely wrong...but they were. This was not only one of the better episodes in the past few seasons, it was an episode that had an actual storyline that didn't veer off into wtf-land. I wish I had as much time as some of you and could spend hours discussing something I hate

Yes, Lisa made a brief appearence (she pointed out to Bart that Marge had been sitting and petting the dog for 2 hours...there was also a little joke involving Bart's "No Girls Allowed" sign).
