Kind of a subpar episode overall but the three bottles left standing after the booth was demo'd had me
Meah. Only a couple mild snickers.
I fell asleep about halfway in.
I did like the opening part with Moe. |
The opening with the mass couch attack was the funniest part of this blah episode.
Homer driving off in the bumper car was pretty funny.
A motherboy pageant? AD did it! AD did it!
I do agree that the couch gag was one of the best ever. |
The couch gag this week was better than last week's whole Treehouse of Horror
That was the longest intro on the Simpsons and it would have been more fitting as part of last week Tree House of Horror episode.
Didn't particularly care about the Mama's boy with Marge and Bart but I have to admit that I couldn't stop laughing when Jimbo, Kearney and the other kid were doing "My Sharona" near the Simpsons window. |
The beginning and the end were great, the middle...not so much
One of the funniest episode in years, yet I knew clicking on this thread that there would be nothing but dogging on it. At least you guys are consistent. ;)
This was an above average episode - those that didn't like it are just burned out from Simpsons, and wouldn't be able to distinguish between a good or bad episode any longer.
I rarely dog the Simpsons. But in this case I'll make an exception. Except for the Homer/Moe storyline it was the suck.
I actually thought it was the strongest episode in a while.
I thought it was pretty decent.
I rewatched the couch opening a few times, I thought that was really funny. Overall, it was an okay episode for me and I did like Skinner's interpretation of Ebony and Ivory.
Dammit, the one couch opening I happen to miss, and apparently it's funny. Anyone care to recap?
Where was Lisa?
As I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion I will not say that those who think this was a bad episode were completely and entirely wrong...but they were. This was not only one of the better episodes in the past few seasons, it was an episode that had an actual storyline that didn't veer off into wtf-land. I wish I had as much time as some of you and could spend hours discussing something I hate
Tell the truth - you're a new writer on the show, aren't you?
Seriously, though, not a bad episode - just different from the direction and feeling previous episodes had. |
Erasmus -
Don't I wish! But then I'd be opening myself up to the ridicule of fanboys on here who think the show should have been cancelled 5 years ago |
I'm still curious why Lisa didn't make a single appearance this week.
She was in the episode (maybe only had one line though) wasn't she? I watch the old episodes here at 6 and 7 though so maybe my memory is wrong.
Yes, Lisa made a brief appearence (she pointed out to Bart that Marge had been sitting and petting the dog for 2 hours...there was also a little joke involving Bart's "No Girls Allowed" sign).
good episide. lots of subtle jokes
