It's still possible Anna is there with Shannon at the end but there's no way she shoots her. Her wound is from the creature or a spear.
Another guy had this idea at work yesterday. I like it. I'm open to any interpretation that goes with my theory that Ana did not shoot Shannon (but she shot at something regardless).

Shannon's wound is a shallow knife wound that was done up close because when we first see her emerge we see her back which is completely uninjured and bloodless. If she was shot there would be an entrance or exit wound back there. It could still be a spear wound but I think that would go straight through her. Anna could just be ready to shoot after hearing the gunshot (which actually sounds like a rifle to me).

Sayid is the first to look towards the place where Walt is standing, then Shannon turns around and sees him so Sayid definitely sees him too. I think Walt was actually there at the end because when he walks away the branches on the trees move. Plus, he didn't have water falling down his face at the end. All the other visions showed water including the one in the tent. This time it was raining. Maybe the visions were foretelling the night of Shannon's death when it would be raining.

Finally watched it and I thought it was a good episode overall. I'm not sad to see the "death" of Shannon.

A gunshot to the stomach doesn't have an exit wound. There's alot going on in there for it to come out.

As Boogieman03 said a stomach wound won't necessarily have an exit wound, especially if the bullet hits the spine. The slide on Anna's gun was back as if the gun was out of rounds, and Anna had previously said the gun only had one bullet left.

Okay, so gunshots to the stomach area can stay there and not exit but that still doesn't change the wound looking like a long, jagged, vertical hole made by a knife or a spear. Anna probably shot her one bullet at the Other who stabbed Shannon. Hopefully we'll get the resolution to this during the extended flashback episode next week as a flash-forward.

It was a chest-bursting alien.

I'm convinced of that.

http://www.mlong.org/whispers.mp3

The whispers that Sayid and Shannon heard. Play it backwards and you can decipher some of it.

Anybody else think that maybe the reason "the others" haven't harrassed our losties much is because of the security system? I think the SS protects part of the island, but not the part where the "tailies" landed.

I wonder if the security system doesn't protect certain plots of land the island is on. You know, six stations, six numbers that indicate where the stations are, six protected areas?

Good point, could be. But I do think it's protecting it from "the others."

But the "talies" are/were in a dharma station, which means that theory doesn't work, or the security in that area is broken.

But that particular Dharma station the tailies were in had apparently been ransacked some time ago, so without any of the equipment remaining, I think the station no longer served its original function.

Maybe it wasn't in fact a Dharma station. There was no equipment that I saw -- it could have just been a storage shed or something.

Beyond that, maybe somebody neglected to enter the order, the others got in, and they destroyed the security system for that sector. The trained monkeys entering the numbers don't actually understand what they're doing, so they don't understand they only have to enter 5 numbers now.

Well, about the hatch and DHARMA stuff:
Spoiler:
Episode Title: Merged
* Scheduled air date: December 14, 2005
This episode has some big questions answered. It shows flashbacks of the island. Yes, the island and tells you how the hatch came to be, what will happen if the 'numbers' aren't typed into the computer, and how the 'others' came on the island.
Source: E!

So I'm guessing we'll learn quite a lot, can't wait for that episode. It's also the last episode before a month break, so there's sure to be a big cliffhanger (didn't Locke and Boone discover the hatch at that point last season?)

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but The Hanso Foundation website (an official ABC site) has been updated... http://www.thehansofoundation.org/ go there, go to "active projects", "life extension project", read that, then at the bottom of the letter you can click on some of the text, do that, type in "Copenhagen", hit submit.

But isn't the swan station the only one the numbers have to be entered? I thought that was what the training video said.

The training video we saw was specifically for the Swan station, so I would guess the other stations each had its own specific training video.

I believe there's quite alot of talk that the site is NOT an official LOST site. Interesting stuff nonetheless.
