Well, that just stinks. Threshold has potential, but in todays TV world series aren't given time to breathe and develop a following (Seinfeld anyone?). This doesn't hurt as bad as Karen Sisco since it was never as good. Still stinks.

I'm not surprised, and not really sure if I'm upset about it or not. I've watched since the beginning, more to see if it would eventually go anywhere, but it seemed to turn into a Braga-type formula series with no real growth. The characters were about the most one-dimensional people on TV, even adding in a gambling problem (ooh! drama!).
It does seem weird that the network would make the choice to can the show after its one broadcast in the new timeslot. That's like hiding something and then claiming that since no one found it, it must be bad. Well, at least we still have pod people and giant swimming lizards!

I tried to get into this show but after the pilot it was straight downhill. I guess I'll probably just delete the shows I still have on the DVR now that it's canceled. Wastes that all-valuable HD space...

Well, if they upped the quota of scenes with the ravishing Carla Gugino in various lingerie, the ratings might be higher.
Oh, and have her see dead people too.

Threshold Among Latest Cancelled Shows
Source: The Hollywood Reporter November 29, 2005
The Hollywood Reporter says ABC has opted not to pick up additional episodes of the Gail O'Grady comedy Hot Properties, which has completed its original 13-episode order and will stay on the air through December. The Friday entry revolves around four men-obsessed women in a Manhattan real estate office.
After a sluggish start in its original Friday 9 p.m. slot and equally soft results from the trial move of Threshold to the Tuesday 10 p.m. slot last week, the alien-invasion drama will be taken off the schedule for the last Tuesday of the November sweep this week, replaced by a repeat of CBS' promising new crime drama Criminal Minds. No new episodes will be produced after the original 13.
Fox has also cancelled Reunion, about six friends caught up in a murder mystery. The show has struggled in the killer Thursday 9 p.m. slot (opposite CBS' CSI), dropping significantly from its The O.C. lead-in.
late as usual, just saw the post.

Just for info's sake and to let American posters/members know, but Sky One over here on this side of the Atlantic is showing episode 10 (The Crossing) of Threshold, this Wednesday, January 10th, 2006. I would gather that hey are going to show the remaining unaired episodes over here in the subqequent weeks, in case anyone is interested.....

Close to Home
Close to Home has been picked up! I was highly skeptical about this new show. It seemed like "just another procedural" on CBS. So I figured it would be solid, but it was actually quite enjoyable. It has slowly got me hooked. I like the switch between the legal aspects and the law enforcement side. Plus the domestic premise is great. http://www.closetohome-tv.com/ says that CBS has orderd another 13 episodes for next fall. So we will get a season 2.

Although I like the show too, I don't think there is a single person here who watches or likes the show. Hence it's never discussed here. Actually, this news is over 2 months old. CBS renewed the show just before the May up fronts. Season 2 doesn't sound very promising since as you know a major character was killed off and they hired a former Law and Order Executive Producer to revamp the show.

I watch the show but it is one that tended to sit in my Tivo for awhile before being watched.
I was surprised they killed off her husband, but I wonder what they will do with that next season. It might be interesting in a way, since Annabeth always had this "too perfect" life. They also finally made her lose a case at the end of the season. That might ramp up the drama on this show as it was always so predictable.
