After reading this thread, I'm wondering how many people here are playing along with that joke and how many didn't actually catch that part and just think that's how Dwight spells his name

This episode was top notch across the board, IMO the best of the series. If Arrested Development gets tanked this is the series that will take its place in my heart. I've enjoyed it all along, but this episode in particular did not miss a mark. Damn well done!

The look at the end between Jim and Michael was a nice touch. I loved the whole thing at the restaurant, especially when Michael called Pam to look up jokes.

Patman 11-11-05 11:23 PM

Did they thin out Michael's hair in season 1, and then let Carell's hair grow back to normal this season?

entitee 11-11-05 11:41 PM

yeah, Dwight was the one that didn't seem to get what happened with his name in the screenplay. That's why he spelled it out to the camera.

Stu 17 11-12-05 11:29 AM

No Dwight got it, thats why he got pissed off and stopped being the lead role.

Who is the actress that plays Jan? She completely got me going when she flashed that gorgeous smile when Michael closed the deal. :)

Patman 11-12-05 09:05 PM

Dunno, but Jan's got that Sela Ward thing going on.

Her name is Melora Hardin. She's been in a bunch of TV shows... never really as a regular.

She was 'Baby' in the TV series version of 'Dirty Dancing'.

I think he is just combing it different. You can still tell it's thinning a bit up front.

Wow. Impressive resume. She played Abigail Fuller on Quantum Leap! I have that tivo'd. I'll have to check it out soon.

But when you get a chance, go take a look at Michael on cover of "The Office Season One" DVD, and note how high the hairline has been thinned out. Even a combover with that hairline wouldn't look like how it looks in season two.

She also plays Trudy, Monk's dead wife.

This show has seemed to find its stride. I only thought a couple of the episodes of the 6 last year were funny. This year, the show has been far more consistent.

Its obvious they touched up Steve's thining hairline in season two. If anything I think he looked a lot more like a real boss in season 1. He is a star now though so I guess things change and maybe he wanted to look younger. His character is very vain. In HD it almost looks like there is black paint on his scalp to hide the thinning. That is a common way combined with combing over hair to hide the baldness.
